Max has made his feelings clear on it. All these drivers are role models, but language is used in everyday life, it perhaps could've been dealt with slightly differently, which would have avoided any awkwardness. We've seen Royal Family members telling photographers to take a fu*king photo. So reactions need to be relative.

Max Verstappen has spoken highly of his former teammate Ricciardo after the Singapore Grand Prix. As speculations loom regarding the Australian’s future on the paddock, Verstappen defined him as a great guy and a very fast driver.

Daniel and I of course go a long way back. We have always had a great relationship, great friendship, a lot of respect for each other as well, so he’s just a great guy. [We] get on well, it just clicks. There is no fake person, we just get along and are easygoing, we are like that. He will for sure be remembered as a very fast driver, I think everyone knows that, but also as a great guy in the paddock.
Max Verstappen told SkySports F1

Ricciardo has longed for a return to Red Bull ever since his departure in 2018. Having raced for Renault and McLaren thereafter, the 35-year-old has proven his worth across various teams on the grid.
