UFC 265 (Main-event): Ciryl Gane absolutely destroyed Derrick Lewis to become the interim-heavyweight champion

The main event of UFC 265 was headlined by the hard-hitting heavyweights’ Derrick Lewis (25-7 MMA, 16-5 UFC) and Ciryl Gane (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC). This fight was for the interim-heavyweight title, and to everyone’s surprise it was Gane who stopped Lewis in his track to become the champion.
Round 1: Lewis was looking for that knockout punch right from the start but Gane was moving well and kept a safe distance from Lewis’ right hand, he was touching Lewis with outside leg kicks and didn’t allowed Lewis to land anything big. Fight came to a halt as Lewis accidently hit Gane in the groin, fight continued and Lewis exploded with a bunch of punches but Gane moved well and blasted Lewis with his leg kicks, a slow start to the main-event of UFC 265.
Round 2- Lewis attempted a switch kick to the head but Gane had his guard up high, Gane was continously hitting Lewis with leg kicks and his leg was definitely compromised. Lewis attempted a takedown but gane shoved him off an kept on fighting from a safe distance. Both of the engaged in a clinch and to everyone’s surpise it was Gane who controlled Lewis in the clinch.

Round 3- Heavy leg kicks were landing for Gane, and he was mixing up the punches as well. Lewis was sitting on his punches but Gane gave him no chance to explode, he was fighting at a comfortable distance and this was working pretty well for him. Lewis went for a takedown but Gane stuffed it, and engaged him in a clinch. Gane landed a big leg kick that hurt Lewis, he exploded with a furry of puches and Lewis went on a retreat, he continued with his onslaught and finished Lewis on the ground.
