‘This guy is f*cking dangerous… With one punch, just one punch, he can finish the game’ – Ciryl Gane responds to Derrick Lewis’ callout

Ciryl Gane vs Derrick Lewis

Barring Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou in the heavyweight division, the spotlight right now is on Ciryl ‘Bon Gamin’ Gane. The French Muay Thai artist has been surging up the rankings in the heavyweight division. He is currently ranked number 4 and more recently he responded to the callout of the dangerous Derrick Lewis.

Speaking in an interview with Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie, Ciryl Gane seemed to be in awe of Derrick Lewis’s power. He acknowledged how Derrick Lewis became a top-ranked heavyweight ‘with just one punch alone’.

So yes, this guy is really dangerous‘ – Ciryl Gane

Ciryl Gane was quoted as saying, “If the fight (Lewis) is going to be OK for the contract, I think I’d like to finish the fight before the end. Of course, because I know it’s good to finish the fight, but it’s better to finish the fight before the end. So if I can, I’m gonna do it.”

Acknowledging the power Derrick Lewis brings to the table, Gane said, “He doesn’t have a lot of skills, but this guy is f*cking dangerous. With one punch, just one punch, he can finish the game and he’s No. 2 in the rankings just with one punch. So yes, this guy is really dangerous.”

Ciryl Gane is coming off ‘that’ snooze-fest victory over Jairzinho Rozenstruik on the 27th of February, this year. He is still undefeated in his professional MMA career (8-0) with five wins on the trot in the UFC. Derrick Lewis, on the other hand, is coming off a brutal KO victory over Curtis Blaydes, just a week before Ciryl Gane took on Rozenstruik. Lewis, who had already challenged for the title once, will be looking forward to giving his chances a one last go

A win for Ciryl Gane, would do a world of good for him. He is currently ranked number 4. However, Derrick might be taking a risk here, expressing his desire to face a lower ranked opponent.
