“If it is a war, I’m ready for it,” Claressa Shields is ready to go all-out in her MMA debut

Multiple-division champion Claressa Shields is all set to make her move from the sport of boxing to MMA. Shields’ MMA debut is right around the corner on June 10th, where she faces Brittney Elkin at PFL.
Claressa Shields is coming into the fight as a favorite despite the fact that it is her debut in the octagon. She faces Elkin in a PFL fight from Atlantic City, which will air on ESPN+ and ESPN2. A lot of her fans including some big names like Conor McGregor and Jon Jones are excited to see her make the debut in their field. Claressa is training with Jones and Holly Holm in the gym. Meanwhile her opponent Elkin is a veteran as she is fighting since 2014.
Recently, Claressa made an appearance on TMZ to talk about her fight ahead with Brittney. “Everybody wants the knockout, everyone wants the stoppages, but for me, I just really want the experience,” Shields told TMZ. “I want to get in there and get out as quick as possible, I’m fine with that. But if I have to go 15 minutes and have an all-out war with Brittney Elkin, I’m fine with that.”

Shields has decided to not go all out on her trash talking though, given this is her first ever MMA fight. Usually MMA fighters go across their style and fight a boxing match, but Claressa is a brave one to have the courage to step into an Octagon. Elkin on the other hand is not playing it easy as the MMA veteran has already fired shots at the boxing champ.
“I saw an interview where Brittney said she wants to make me a 15-second highlight reel. Like she wants to go in there and knock me out in 15 seconds. And, I was just thinking to myself, ‘Bitch in your dreams. In your wildest dreams,” said Shields in the interview. “I wasn’t gonna talk trash for the fight because I feel like I don’t have that right because it’s my first fight in MMA.”
