Clippers and Knick have interest in Westbrook: Kevin O’Connor
The Hoston Rockets have made significant changes in their front office, only with the hope of improving their performance in the upcoming season. Having changed their Head Coach to Stephen Silas, he would be looking to get the best out of the duo of Russell Westbrook and James Harden. As the trade season is short and is approaching, all sorts of rumors have been in the air. And now it has caught Westbrook in the crossfire.
Westbrook failed to compliment Harden last season particularly well on the court. Knowing that Rocket’s priority is their 3-pointer marquee player, Harden. Will the side from Houston be looking to let go Westbrook to bring stars to the franchise?
Kevin O’Connor on Russell Westbrook
According to Kevin O’Conner on ‘The Mismatch’, there are two teams who might be interested in Russell. “It is interesting, the last 24 hours. I did have multiple sources that I trust, tell me that teams believe Russell Westbrook could be had—that Westbrook could be had,” stated Kevin.
“And I’ve heard the Clippers have interest, I’ve heard the Knicks have interest in Westbrook. Whether anything materializes there, who knows? Who knows? But the fact is that there is a belief that a guy like Westbrook could become available.”
Westbrook and Harden share a close bond and share a lot of common characteristics. But if these rumors are true, Knick or Clippers would have to let go off someone important too.
Westbrook struggled from injuries last season which did not help the former MVP to play at his best. The new head coach Silas would be looking to work on the team’s perimeter shooting. This is one area where Westbrook has been struggling all together. But letting go of a player who averages more than 27 points and 7 rebounds per game would surely be move of foolishness.
