The same world title that Seth Rollins had to forfeit due to a shoulder injury was contested for between CM Punk and Jey Uso. These men went to war at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Punk getting the better of Uso. There was palpable resentment within a section of fans for ‘The Yeet Master’, as they thought LA Knight should have been in his place.
Uso won a Battle Royal on Raw two weeks ago to earn his way into it. Jey had even turned his back on his twin brother Jimmy Uso to get the job done. The ‘Best in the World’ would actually go on to praise the younger Uso for showing that sort of a mindset. However, the Chicago-born wrestler was quite confident in putting the 40-year-old away on D-Day. And that’s exactly what Punk has ended up doing.
It took a number of GTS maneuvers to get rid of the former Bloodline member. With that being said, ‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ is now a 7-time world champion in WWE. His previous reign was forgettable and something that he’d want to erase from existence. The ex-AEW star got cashed in on by arch nemesis Seth Rollins within minutes of winning the world title from Gunther at SummerSlam.

Punk had vowed to upstage Rollins for his deeds, and they were the original match for Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, an unfortunate injury sidelined ‘The Visionary’, and he’s expected to be out for 6 months. After Punk lifted the world title up while being perched on the turnbuckle, Michael Cole made a brilliant call that the ‘Best in the World’ is at the top of the world.
AJ Lee reacts to CM Punk’s world title win at SNME
Not only was the Salt Lake City crowd thrilled with CM Punk winning a world championship at this stage of his career, but his wife, AJ Lee, and beloved dog, Larry, are just as amazed. The former Divas Champion posted a picture on Instagram Stories of her husband showcasing the World Heavyweight title. She used the caption, “proud mama and larry.”

Lee was most recently involved in her first WWE storyline in over a decade, where she joined forces with the ‘Second City Saint’ to oppose Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. The duo of Lee and Punk emerged victorious over Rollins and Lynch in a star-studded tag team match at Wrestlepalooza. While the real-life AJ Mendez hasn’t appeared on WWE programming ever since then, she’s advertised to be back soon.

‘The Crazy Chick’ is being promoted on the banner for the November 17 episode of Raw at Madison Square Garden. It appears as if she has some unfinished business with Lynch, and they might soon rekindle their beef with the women’s Intercontinental title in the equation.
CM Punk linked up with Post Malone after world title win
CM Punk made sure to greet the fans at ringside after dispatching Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event. ‘The Cookie Master’ also caught up with Post Malone, who was nestled in the front row. The recording artist even gave his cowboy hat to Punk for a bit, and the latter absolutely nailed that look.

Malone was described by Michael Cole on commentary as someone who’s falling in love with WWE. Upon reaching backstage, Punk posed for the cameras with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, NXT Champion Ricky Saints, and the brand-new WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.

The picture is making rounds on social media for the fact that all four superstars in it were once a pivotal part of AEW. In other notable stuff, Punk paid tribute to his MMA coach, Duke Roufus, by wearing his name on the jacket during his entrance. Roufus had recently passed away and is regarded as one of the most influential coaches in the game.
