CM Punk drops massive hint of secret partnership with Paul Heyman amid rumors of his Roman Reigns betrayal
Roman Reigns might be in all sorts of trouble as his special counsel has started to show signs of being a double agent to CM Punk.

Don’t forget that Paul Heyman was CM Punk‘s wiseman long before he took Roman Reigns under his tutelage. The statement is more pertinent right now than ever considering what the mentioned entities are up to. In an interesting bit, The Wiseman recently posted an Instagram story promoting the launch of his brand-new merchandise with Punk.
And guess what? The Straight Edge Superstar didn’t waste a second reposting it. The tee, having an all-black background with a portrait from Punk and Heyman’s old WWE pairing, could be bought online from Heyman’s official website. The said T-shirt has 434 emblazoned on it, which signifies The Best in the World’s 434-day WWE title reign.
It’s important to note that Paul is actively embracing his long-standing ties with Punk despite the latter’s ongoing rift with Heyman’s current associate—Reigns. On SmackDown this past Friday, Heyman, though acknowledging Punk as his friend, claimed that it was Roman Reigns day on the occasion of the worldwide release of the WWE 2K25 video game.

The Mad Genius further dismissed any signs of remorse for Roman’s other foe, Seth Rollins. Heyman asserted that since both Punk and Rollins have problems with The OTC, they could pay a visit to SmackDown next week in Bologna and meet Reigns face-to-face.
Despite talking down on Punk during his SmackDown cameo, The One Behind the One in 21-1 is celebrating something that his ex-client Punk did years ago—his epic world title reign. That does indeed seem fishy. Is Heyman plotting something up with Punk by keeping Roman in the dark? Time will tell.
Paul Heyman surprisingly comforted CM Punk on Raw
The most glaring sign of Paul Heyman harboring a soft corner for CM Punk could be traced back to Raw this week. In an epic main event at MSG, The Second City Saint battled Seth Rollins within the confines of a steel cage. In the closing moments, The Tribal Chief dragged Rollins out, inadvertently handing him the win against Punk via escaping the cage. Roman then mugged Seth for a while.

The OTC later noticed that his wiseman was consoling Punk inside the steel cage. It just piqued Roman. He rushed to the site and inflicted a beating on the Chicagoan as well. Even though Reigns didn’t ask Paul why he lent his shoulder to Punk to cry on, it’s something that’d definitely come into play sooner than later.

Who knows if next week on SmackDown Roman threatens Heyman to explain his obsession with The Best in the World? What also needs to be remembered is that the 59-year-old still owes a favor to Punk for the latter helping Reigns’ OG Bloodline inside the WarGames structure at Survivor Series last year.
It might’ve been lost on a few that Punk saved his former manager from getting jumped by Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline back in June 2024 on a SmackDown edition in Chicago. Prior to that, The Voice of the Voiceless also gave a warm hug to Heyman, who’d been on an emotional tear since Reigns’ title loss at WrestleMania XL.
How did CM Punk respond to Paul Heyman’s SmackDown promo?
CM Punk didn’t take long to respond to Paul Heyman‘s comments on SmackDown. While working out in a gym, Punk posted a video on Instagram in which he revealed that he’ll be on SmackDown in Italy this week.

He certainly hasn’t forgotten that The OTC wrecked him to stand tall in MSG. Also, Seth Rollins hasn’t been officially announced for the show; he’s at least advertised on WWE’s website to be there.
The Visionary could fly over to Bologna to seek redemption against his erstwhile Shield brother. Both Reigns and Rollins were eliminated from the Royal Rumble match by Punk. Since that moment, it’s been speculated that they’ll collide in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 41.
