CM Punk Gets Punched in the Face by Jimmy Uso After Refusing to Apologize for Roman Reigns’ Father Remark on Raw
CM Punk refused to soften his tone and apologize for his remark on Roman Reigns' late father. It didn't bode well for him, though.

CM Punk ended his night on this week’s Raw getting punched in the face. But what exactly led to it? ‘The Best in the World’ picked up from where he left off last Monday, where he hurled that incendiary remark at Roman Reigns about burying him next to his late father.
Punk said in the opening stages of his promo that the world title around his waist was created due to Reigns running away from the responsibility of being a world champion.
It was a dig at The OTC’s part-time status, which had started becoming a glaring issue after WrestleMania 38, around when Reigns was believed to have negotiated a contract with WWE that allowed him to show up on even fewer dates than he was doing before. On the contrary, CM Punk called himself a fighting champion and said he levels up the competition every time he puts the title on the line.
The 47-year-old affirmed that one has to level up physically and mentally before stepping into that ring with him, or else they’d be left dumbfounded and slack-jawed just like it happened to Reigns last week. ‘The Second City Saint’ admitted that he lowered himself to The Tribal Chief’s level the last time they met face-to-face. Just then, The Usos made their way out, and they were hot.
Jey Uso immediately grabbed a microphone and vehemently asked CM Punk to apologize. The latter questioned why Reigns had sent his cousins to do his heavy lifting, which Jey dismissed and asserted that they came out on their own.
Jimmy Uso stepped in quick and informed the World Heavyweight Champion that it had nothing to do with Reigns but respect. ‘Big Jim’ said he respected Punk for the kind of character he’s been over the years.
Uso had no issue with Punk talking smack about Reigns, but Jimmy was massively upset with how the ‘Best in the World’ disrespected their heavenly uncle. The former AEW star acted as if he was regretful of the statement he made about Sika, who has no voice anymore.
Punk said he wasn’t spiritual but hoped the deceased soul could hear what he was about to say. ‘The Cookie Master’ explained his deep-rooted connection and history with the Anoa’i family. Punk revealed he wasn’t as familiar with Sika as he was with his brother Afa, who would take care of Punk when the latter would drive to Allentown, Pennsylvania, back in the day.
‘The Red-Headed Stepchild’ felt blessed to have sat under the learning tree of Samu. Punk mentioned that everyone in the Samoan dynasty has had his respect, and they have all reciprocated it as well, except for Roman Reigns.
‘The Voice of the Voiceless’ hoped that Sika saw that his son was this manipulative, gaslighting, narcissistic plastic politician. A restless Jey Uso chimed in to yell at Punk, as he still hadn’t issued an apology for belittling one-half of the Wild Samoans. The real-life Philip Brooks clasped the hands of Jimmy and Jey before finally saying he was sorry. That wasn’t it.
Punk felt sorry for the Usos, as Reigns had been treating them as garbage for years and never once apologized to them. ‘The Second City Saint’ also brought up how the former Bloodline boss called one of Punk’s mentors and Cody Rhodes‘ father, Dusty Rhodes, irrelevant.
Punk lamented Reigns tricking his entire family into thinking that he cared for them and the fans, because if he actually spared a thought for this business, he would’ve been standing in front of him on Raw. Punk then shoved the mic at Jey, who shoved Punk in return before Jimmy threw a right hand at the Chicagoan.
‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ fell to the ground as a result. What an intense segment it was, which has set the stage for yet another blockbuster confrontation between Punk and Reigns, with ‘The OTC’ set to be at Raw next Monday in San Antonio.
CM Punk divided for AJ Lee vs. Bayley on next week’s Raw
Moments after partaking in an emotionally charged face-off with The Usos to close out Raw, CM Punk quickly hopped onto social media to react to his wife’s first match on Raw since 2015 getting official. AJ Lee is set to defend her women’s Intercontinental Championship against Bayley next Monday.

‘The Role Model’ earned the title shot after winning a gauntlet match on Raw. Bayley and Lee go way back in time, apart from being great friends in real life. The former Damage CTRL leader had her first interaction on WWE television with ‘The Crazy Chick’ on an episode of NXT in August 2013.

They even had a match a week later, where Lee defended the Divas Championship against Bayley, which was their only match, and it’ll change next week on Raw. Reacting to it, CM Punk took to Instagram Stories and wrote, “Uuuh. What am I supposed to do here?!?” ‘The Second City Saint’ is finding it difficult to pick a side, and he might want to stay on the fence for this one.
