On Saturday, the US Army organized a military parade in the nation’s capital upon the completion of 250 years of its establishment. The landmark event coincided with President Donald Trump‘s 79th birthday. While the celebrations were ongoing in Washington, D.C., millions of civilians flocked to the roads of different cities and towns for their “No Kings” demonstrations.
And guess what? WWE Superstar CM Punk went to one of its Chicago-held versions. The following pictures show the 47-year-old mixing it up in solidarity with the protesters. One might deduce that Punk doesn’t stand with Trump’s administration, which continues to upset a big chunk of his compatriots.
The ongoing civil unrest in Los Angeles over the POTUS’ immigration policies has led to curfews in parts of the city. It’d be interesting to see how Punk’s stance on Trump affects his standing in WWE. At the moment, he’s quite a beloved figure among the fans and has maintained a healthy synergy with the top brass as well.

Back in February, The Second City Saint showed support for the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) by wearing its T-shirt on an episode of Raw. In that segment, he was confronted by Logan Paul, as, at the time, they were Elimination Chamber-bound participants. Right now, The Best in the World is steadfast in his view of the US President with the way he voluntarily joined the No Kings protests in his hometown.
CM Punk will make his Saudi Arabia wrestling debut at Night of Champions
For the first time in his professional wrestling career, CM Punk is set to compete in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He’ll take on John Cena for the Undisputed WWE title at Night of Champions. At first, no one believed that it’d happen given Punk’s controversial past with the Arab nation.
However, with the Chicago-born wrestler hellbent on chasing Cena even up to Mars, as he said during their latest confrontation on SmackDown, a trip to Saudi might not be that big of a deal for Punk anymore.

The Straight Edge Superstar also chastised his great rival for devising his own Mt. Rushmore of pro wrestlers wherein Cena self-occupied all four places. Punk said The Cenation Leader was a joke for even coming up with that. The former AEW star dubbed Cena’s claims of ruining wrestling and absconding with the WWE title as two key features of following in Punk’s footsteps.

In the same promo, The Second City Saint urged the Hollywood mogul to ditch his ongoing evil arc and give the fans a chance to embrace his legendary career. It might be a foreshadowing of some sort, as the Last Real Champion is pegged to revert to his babyface persona before ending his WWE tenure in December. As things stand, Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect have only 16 obligations left with WWE.
CM Punk confronted Cody Rhodes on SmackDown with a warning shot
CM Punk bumped shoulders with not only John Cena but also Cody Rhodes on SmackDown. The Best in the World stopped by The American Nightmare before his first-round match in the King of the Ring tournament. Rhodes quipped that they can’t escape each other for too long.

In response, Punk said that it’d be interesting to see who’d chase whom after Night of Champions. Rhodes has advanced to the semifinals of the KOTR tournament. If he goes the distance and eventually becomes the 2025 King of the Ring at Night of Champions, the former AEW EVP will challenge for the Undisputed WWE title at SummerSlam.

Punk, who has a date with Cena on June 28 in Riyadh, might dethrone The Franchise Player to go on to lock horns with Rhodes at The Biggest Party of the Summer. The Best in the World hasn’t held championship gold ever since returning to WWE in 2023. It might be high time for him.
