“Kind of like the daddy’s back,” CM Punk makes BOLD claim about finally main eventing WrestleMania with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins

What a turnaround it has been for CM Punk who broached the possibility of never closing out WrestleMania after tearing his triceps last year.

In a first for CM Punk, he’s going to realize his lifelong dream of main-eventing WrestleMania in a matter of few days. Under the bright lights of Las Vegas, the 46-year-old will take on Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple-threat match. Previewing the non-title all-star setting, The Best in the World spoke to Sebastian Hackl of WWE Deutschland.

Initially, he appreciated the two-night format of WrestleMania. It’d allow more superstars to experience that rare air of closing out the ‘Big Dance’ in their lifetime, added the Straight Edge Superstar. It’s certainly a change of heart from Punk, who infamously took a shot at WrestleMania(s) no longer concluding in single nights. The Second City Saint jibed at it while feuding with MJF in AEW.

During a promo, he asked the Maxwell to go main event night four of the buy-one-get-one-free extravaganza if The Devil thought the grass was greener on the other side. Anyway, that’s a thing of the past, and Punk is definitely over the malignity he once harbored for WWE. Circling back to the aforementioned interview, he iterated that he brought both Reigns and Rollins to the main roster over a decade ago.

……It’s exciting for me to see how long they’ve held it down and how far they’ve come from where they started and it’s gonna be special to show them that, you know, kind of like the daddy’s back thing…..

The Chicagoan is excited to see how much they’ve evolved in the meantime he was gone from WWE. Although Punk has wrestled The Visionary twice in one-on-one matches this year, he’s yet to throw hands at The OTC. Punk quipped that “daddy’s back” in regard to how he’s feeling about his WrestleMania 41 opponents.

CM Punk returns to Chicago for SmackDown

WWE is back in the US after capping off a highly successful three-week European tour. The first city they’re hosting a TV taping from is Chicago. Tonight on SmackDown, the company rolls through the CM Punk territory. As expected, The Second City Saint will be there.

However, what may surprise many is the fact that Roman Reigns is also advertised for the show. It’d mark The OTC’s third straight appearance and quite possibly his last until WrestleMania. Since it might be the only time WWE has Punk and Roman under the same roof until the D-Day in Vegas, one could expect some fireworks.

Last week, The Straight Edge Superstar dropped a bombshell by revealing that headlining WrestleMania wasn’t the favor he’s owed by Paul Heyman. There shall be an added emphasis around exploring what that could be on SmackDown. Interestingly, Seth Rollins isn’t listed on WWE’s official listing for the blue brand’s return to Chicago.

Though he could turn up at the eleventh hour, The Drip God is already being promoted for Raw this coming Monday in Minneapolis. Anyway, Heyman’s role in the story is not the one to sleep on. He’s constantly getting winks from his best friend Punk that Reigns wouldn’t be happy about.

How did CM Punk entertain the Londoners after WWE Raw?

Last Monday, WWE ran the O2 Arena in London for Raw. On a show that finally lived up to its billing, CM Punk’s absence did bother some fans. However, he was there for the paying audience. After the TV taping was over, The Voice of the Voiceless wrestled Ludwig Kaiser in a dark match.

Gunther‘s cohort couldn’t trouble the veteran and lost. After putting him away, Punk sang along to Queen’s Fat Bottomed Girls with the live crowd. The former AEW star dedicated it to his beloved wife, AJ Lee, whom he calls April.

The Best in the World is fond of some good music, which is why he also encouraged Gunther to recite a folk song for his compatriots during a recent house show in Austria. But if one’s a hardcore Beatles fan, he/she shouldn’t approach Punk about it.
