Amid his WWE hiatus, CM Punk made a special appearance at this past weekend’s ComplexCon event in Las Vegas. While on-site, the 46-year-old chatted with Peter Rosenberg. He was asked about some big-time feuds that he’d like to get into that are potential PLE-headliners. Punk said whenever he and Roman Reigns come face-to-face on WWE TV, that’s going to be something.

Another name whom Punk believes he’ll cross roads with is Cody Rhodes. They were the final two in this year’s 30-man Royal Rumble match. It’d be interesting to see when they’ll meet again. Next, The Best in the World teased an imminent showdown with The Rock, alluding to the fact that he could show up anytime. Last, but certainly not least, Punk mentioned that John Cena is about to embark on his retirement tour.

Even though the former AEW star affirmed he doesn’t want to meddle in John’s business, Punk has long yearned to wrestle the 16-time World Champion one last time before he hangs it up. Apart from these dream scenarios that’s in Punk’s head at the moment, he was also asked about the status of his wife, AJ Lee.

Since his groundbreaking return to WWE at Survivor Series last November, the fans have been clamoring for his better half to follow suit. The Voice of the Voiceless asserted that Lee’s got too much on her plate right now. Having made her foray into the entertainment industry back in 2020, AJ has started a new production company.

Punk did say that if somehow April buys some time out of her ironclad schedule and feels like having an itch to wrestle again, she’ll let everyone know. As of now, there’s no indication that it’d happen for sure.

CM Punk close to WWE return after epic bloodbath with Drew McIntyre

Having last wrestled in October at Bad Blood, CM Punk is yet to be back on WWE programming. He capped off one of the best rivalries of his decades-long career when he put Drew McIntyre to sleep inside Hell in a Cell.

They painted the canvas red by throwing the kitchen sink at each other. Punk got the win and the decisive closure to the vitriol that had blurred the lines of kayfabe and reality between them. In its aftermath, McIntyre received 16 staples to his head.

The Scot’s also been on hiatus. While Punk is reportedly scheduled for this month’s Survivor Series PLE, there are no plans for Drew yet. Both are expected to be key players on Raw as it prepares for the heavily-touted Netflix move.
