Roman Reigns, as usual, came out for the main event segment on WWE Raw this week at MSG. After milking every ounce of his entrance, ‘The OTC’ stood in the middle of the ring, and it must’ve felt like home with a partisan crowd.

Right after he asked The Garden to acknowledge him, CM Punk‘s music hit, and he was dressed to fight. ‘The Best in the World’ went right after ‘The Tribal Chief’ as they skipped the talking part and started throwing haymakers at each other from the get-go.

Reigns initially flattened Punk with a jumping clothesline and tried dumping him over the top rope, but the world champ reversed it. They descended to ringside, and Punk drove Reigns’ face first into the steel ring post. ‘The Second City Saint’ then removed the hood of the commentary desk before soaking in some crowd reactions. That wasted motion cost Punk, who ran into a couple of punches from Reigns.

The latter lifted the 47-year-old for a powerbomb, but Punk countered by hammering down on the former Bloodline leader. The Chicagoan, in return, got Reigns up to deliver the GTS but couldn’t land it as security and other WWE officials pulled the belligerents apart. ‘The OTC’ broke free and went for the spear to Punk but accidentally caught producer Petey Williams instead.

CM Punk took advantage of that moment, and he successfully planted Roman Reigns with the Go To Sleep finishing maneuver this time around. But the champ wasn’t done yet. He picked Reigns up and powerbombed him through the commentary table in a déjà vu moment for ‘The Tribal Chief’. Last week on Raw, it was Reigns who made Punk suffer the same wrath, and Punk was laughing it off, saying he wasn’t the one that needed help.

‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ had a crazed smile on his face after he laid out ‘The Head of the Table’ on Raw this week. Unlike last Monday, The Usos didn’t get involved in their cousin’s business. Also, after putting Reigns through the table, Punk sat beside him and mocked the Anoa’i clan wrestler with “Roman…Roman Reigns” chants.

Triple H stepped in to prevent Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi from brawling on Raw

After being humiliated by Oba Femi for two weeks on the trot, Brock Lesnar pulled up to this week’s Raw in his wrestling attire. After Paul Heyman vehemently defended his client getting outmaneuvered by ‘The Ruler’, Lesnar snatched away the mic from Heyman and screamed for Femi to make his way out.

Before that could happen, Raw GM Adam Pearce turned up with some security guards to declare that he couldn’t allow any more physicality to ensue between Lesnar and Femi on Raw, especially with WrestleMania around the corner, and Pearce said he knew how to protect his main events.

Femi’s music eventually hit, and he singlehandedly dealt with whatever reinforcement Pearce had brought along with him. ‘The Bringer of War’ even pushed the Raw general manager to the ground to make a beeline for his WrestleMania opponent. The Nigerian wrestler, however, made Brock Lesnar wait by completing a circle around the ring.

Femi ultimately came face-to-face with Lesnar, and the crowd ate it up. Just when they were about to throw it down, Paul “Triple H” Levesque stepped into the ring and got between those behemoths. The WWE CCO issued warnings to Femi and Lesnar to ensure that they stayed apart. Lesnar was still going at it, so ‘Hunter’ had to sternly ask his manager, Heyman, to take him out of the ring.

‘The Beast’ let a condescending laugh out at Femi, who was constantly held back by Levesque. Lesnar got down at ringside and pulled out the steel steps, making everyone think he wasn’t done yet. However, he threw them away moments later. Lesnar was clearly ticked off, so he F-5ed a security guard near the ring apron right in front of Levesque and Femi.

While the fans didn’t get to see a brawl of any sort between Lesnar and Femi on this week’s Raw, the intervention of Triple H to keep the situation from exacerbating added a whole another layer of intrigue to quite possibly the most-hyped clash of titans heading into WrestleMania 42.
