The latest episode of NXT saw the return of CM Punk for a specific task. Although he got caught up in the heat between Giulia and his protégé, Roxanne Perez, that wasn’t why he was there. The reason “The Best in the World” visited the black and gold brand was to officiate the NXT World Title match between Ethan Page and Trick Williams.

On the latest episode of NXT, General Manager Ava Raine officiated the contract signing between Ethan Page and his challenger, Trick Williams. When the 30-year-old star accused All Ego of stealing his NXT title, the champion took offense and put his challenger through a table with the Ego’s Edge. Unfortunately, the contract signing was delayed and later continued by Tyrese Haliburton.

The popular NBA player came out with the contract in hand and informed the NXT crowd that he had convinced both competitors to finish the process. However, fans were in for a surprise when CM Punk revealed his true motive for arriving on NXT. The Second City Saint announced that he would be the special guest referee for the NXT Title match between Page and Williams.

However, this match could see interference from another main roster star who happens to be a fierce rival of Punk. The name in question is none other than Drew McIntyre, with whom Punk has been feuding since the start of the year. The Scottish Warrior could launch a brutal attack on the referee to gain an advantage ahead of their Hell in a Cell match at the Bad Blood PLE.

Drew McIntyre took a shot at CM Punk by saying he was proud of Roxanne Perez

On the latest episode of NXT, the WWE Universe witnessed an awkward confrontation between CM Punk and his “heel” wrestling daughter, Roxanne Perez. She came out and said some venomous things about the man who had helped her significantly in her wrestling career. After The Prodigy mentioned she should’ve been a fan of Drew McIntyre, the latter responded with a message to her on social media.

The Sinister Scotsman took to X and called his opponent a freak for referring to the 22-year-old star as his wrestling daughter. He expressed how proud he was of Perez for choosing him as her idol instead of The Second City Saint. Not only that, the NXT Women’s Champion also said she likes Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, more than him.

None of this 'you're my wrestling daughter' bs. Only freaks do that. I'm just very proud of you Roxanne_wwe

Soon, the challenger for her NXT title, Giulia, interrupted the conversation and said the countdown had begun. Both stars will face off for the first time ever for the NXT Women’s Championship on the October 1st episode of NXT. Many fans believe that the Japanese wrestler will become the new champion by defeating the 22-year-old star.
