CM Punk and Drew McIntyre continued their heated rivalry at Bash in Berlin. This time, the archenemies took each other on in a strap match, where the two competitors were tied to each other with a strap and had to touch the four turnbuckles in succession to win.

In classic CM Punk style, the Best in the World dropped a subliminal reference during his latest match in Berlin. The Best in the World was seen wearing white tights with shades of red and blue during his entrance. Further, he also wore boots and shin guards of the same color. This was the same gear worn by the former AEW star at All In 2023.

CM Punk faced Samoa Joe in his last-ever AEW match at Wembley last summer to open the show. This match took place shortly after the backstage controversy involving Jack Perry. He would be fired from the company less than a week later.

Now, the former AEW World Champion was seen wearing the same ring gear just a week after the second edition of All In. However, he did not do this unprovoked, as the current AEW TNT Champion also took a shot at the Second City Saint at Wembley.

Punk emerged victorious in his match against Joe last year. He was able to repeat his success this time as well. The Voice of the Voiceless hit McIntyre four times with the GTS before tapping each turnbuckle to pick up the victory. Furthermore, he also retrieved the bracelet featuring his wife and dog’s name that had been stolen by the Scottish Psychopath a few weeks ago.

WWE Universe goes berserk after CM Punk shoots at AEW with his ring gear

Fans had a great chuckle after seeing Punk take a shot at AEW through his ring gear. They brought up Tony Khan‘s statements after All In, saying that someone was fearing for their life backstage. Netizens joked that the Second City Saint likely had a backstage fight before coming out for his match.

Fans pointed out that the Raw Superstar coincidentally won both his matches while wearing this particular ring gear over the past year. He successfully retained his “Real” AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe and was successful in getting revenge against Drew McIntyre.

Fans speculated how AEW was going to shoot back after this incident. It would be no surprise if the next episode of Dynamite featured someone calling Punk out for these actions. They joked that Tony Khan likely has the entire creative team working overtime to think of a dig against the Best in the World.
