Having just received the medical clearance to compete again, CM Punk doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned. Next Saturday, he goes to war against longtime rival Drew McIntyre. The latter took the blame for rupturing Punk’s triceps at this year’s Royal Rumble. There’s enough bad blood between them, and the former AEW star would love to get his pound of flesh on the Scot.

A grudge match against Drew would be Punk’s first singles WWE bout since 2013. Which is why he’s sweating it out. In a recent video shared by WRKD Wrestling on X, the Best in the World could be seen fine-tuning his arsenal. The clip does tell one thing: CM Punk is going all out for this. His movements were nimble, and he’d hope to replicate a few of those against an uphill spar with McIntyre in Cleveland.

But that isn’t all. Officiating their match at SummerSlam will be Seth Rollins. Mind you, Punk did collateral damage to Rollins at Money in the Bank last month. The two even exchanged some words after it was all said and done. The Visionary wouldn’t have forgotten that at all. Could he return the favor to The Second City Saint? He might do it with interest.

Speaking of Punk’s arch-nemesis, McIntyre, the two have been at loggerheads for months. The Scottish Warrior made it extremely personal with the 45-year-old the moment he snatched the latter’s bracelet, which has Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, and his dog Larry‘s name over it. Most recently, the self-proclaimed DM Hunk went deep into his bag and posted a picture alongside Jack Perry. And everyone knows how the former Jungle Boy shares an unrelenting bond with the real-life Phil Brooks.

CM Punk’s WWE return became a reality due to Vince McMahon’s exit

If Jack Perry had not asked CM Punk to go cry him a river at AEW All In last year, who knows what would’ve been the case with the Chicagoan right now? Nonetheless, it happened, and Punk was fired by AEW.

He ended up making an earth-shattering return at last year’s Survivor Series. The Straight Edge Superstar recently claimed that Vince McMahon‘s WWE departure paved the way for his comeback. Moreover, he has also stated that he would’ve never left WWE had it been driven the same way as it is today.

Punk’s currently on a three-year deal, and he’s looking to secure a much longer contract. However, it’s still in the negotiation phase. As of now, his ongoing agreements would extend to November 2026 if the injury time isn’t taken into account.
