A recent exclusive, courtesy of Ringside News, claimed that CM Punk‘s meet-and-greet event at WWE World during WrestleMania weekend was a misadventure. The outlet mentioned that his booth followed a stringent code of conduct to demarcate the influx of fans. Those who were looking forward to having a moment with The Best in the World allegedly returned disappointed.

Instructions asked the attendees to not initiate a conversation and to not touch him at all. To ensure everything was by the book, an instructor was also placed near the WWE veteran’s section, who would yell anytime there was a rush. It seems like the reported incident didn’t sit well with one of the fans who met Punk not that long ago. A user on X named Eden called out the aforementioned outlet.

He detailed his personal experience from the meet-and-greet in March. The fan had taken his family to the Fanatics-hosted event during the Elimination Chamber weekend. He listed how The Second City Saint was extremely kind to them, especially to his kids. It’s worth noting that it was over a month ago and not an excerpt from Punk’s latest M&G. Nonetheless, everyone has their side of the story.

The discrepancy in both situations could also be attributed to the on-site organizers adopting a different approach to these meet-and-greets as per the fan demand. Also at WWE World last weekend, a ton of names, including John Cena and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin had a relatively relaxed demeanor, and fans enjoyed way more leeway around them, as opposed to Punk’s booth, added Ringside News.

While still being special, WrestleMania 41 wasn’t kind to CM Punk

This year’s WrestleMania was special to CM Punk. He finally lived his lifelong dream of closing out a night of WWE’s biggest spectacle of the year. The Best in the World even had Paul Heyman walk him down that ramp in a highly anticipated triple-threat match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Heyman’s presence in his corner was the favor that Punk cashed in shortly before WrestleMania, thinking he guaranteed himself a win there.

However, as it turned out, The Mad Genius betrayed his former best friend. Heyman delivered another shock by going low on Reigns. The WWE HOF’er aligned with Rollins, who later pinned The Tribal Chief to emerge victorious. Despite experiencing such a tormenting blow, Punk was grateful for the opportunity to have main-evented WrestleMania.

On Raw after WrestleMania, The Second City Saint tried getting his hands on his former manager but was stopped dead in his tracks by The Visionary and his newest recruit—Bron Breakker. Shortly after that, The OTC also made his way out but got annihilated by the Steiner descendant. The show went off air with Heyman, Rollins, and Breakker standing tall as Punk & Reigns were begging for their lives.

CM Punk lists down his upcoming non-wrestling projects

As much as CM Punk is enjoying his ongoing WWE run after putting years of animosity to rest, he’s actively looking for projects outside of wrestling. In a recent interview with Deadline, The Voice of the Voiceless mentioned that he’s racing with Dave Bautista in terms of who gets to do a rom-com first.

Punk is confident that he and Bautista would absolutely nail that genre whenever the opportunity presents itself. The 46-year-old also expressed his burning desire to work with The Animal, and the feeling is mutual. Furthermore, the former AEW star is trying to pitch season 3 of Heels to Netflix.

Punk is over the moon about an upcoming TV show called Revival and a Ryan Prows-directed movie, Night Patrol. He’s cast in both of them. In his words, The Best in the World has several pre-existing relationships and projects he’s working on that are grand-fathered into his WWE contract.
