Coach George Karl STRIPS LeBron James off ‘superstar’ title and takes shots at Lakers franchise

LeBron James and George Karl

Former Nuggets coach George Karl took to social media to criticize the Los Angeles Lakers, a team he has frequently targeted in the past. He expressed his frustration with the constant media coverage of the Lakers, stating that it’s due to their large fan bases and valuation rather than their current relevance as championship contenders.

Furthermore, Karl offered unsolicited advice to the Lakers’ coaching search committee, as he asserted that LeBron James is no longer a superstar. He also suggested that acknowledging this “truth” would help them make a better coaching hire, one that could last longer than two seasons.

However, Karl’s criticism of the Los Angeles Lakers is nothing new, as he has made numerous provocative comments about the team in the past. He has primarily focused on the team’s two superstars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, whom he seems to enjoy targeting with his bold statements.

Moreover, it’s worth noting that Karl’s comments have sparked a reaction from some who still consider LeBron James a superstar, which is surprising to the Hall of Fame coach.

Despite this, George Karl has remained unapologetic in his criticism of the Lakers and their star players while continuing to speak his mind on social media.

George Karl trolled the Los Angeles Lakers on social media

George Karl once trolled the Los Angeles Lakers on social media when the Denver Nuggets trailed the Minnesota Timberwolves by a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference playoff semifinal series.

Beaten, if not humiliated, in every part of the game - coaching, character, bench and more. But they still are a helluva lot better than the Lakers.

Karl’s post went viral, which then sparked a reaction from Lakers fans and haters alike all over social media. The Nuggets have dominated the Lakers in recent years, but they know they need to improve to repeat as champions.

The Nuggets’ struggles against the Timberwolves have highlighted the need for improvement. Moreover, they need to elevate their game beyond what was sufficient to beat the Lakers to advance into the conference finals.
