Ben Shelton seemingly is not taking his loss to Jack Draper at Indian Wells to his heart. In a recent post on Instagram, the tennis star stunned his fans with a picture beside Dennis Rodman‘s daughter. As quipped by Coco Gauff beneath the post, it was a shocking hard launch.

Ben Shelton posted a carousel of pictures on his Instagram featuring incoherent snaps with an inspirational caption. As he wrote, he was focused on his goal, however, it was far from his “peak”. One of the pictures in the post was himself with Trinity Rodman where the two were hugging each other while Shelton clicked the mirror selfie.

Additionally, the US international footballer was giving the budding tennis star a sweet kiss on the cheek. The hard launch gathered a plethora of surprising reactions in the comments section of the post, one from fellow tennis player and friend Coco Gauff. “Hard launchhhhh!!” chimed in Coco Gauff.

She wasn’t the only friend who shared enthusiasm about Shelton’s relationship with Rodman. Frances Tiafoe and Sloane Stephens also joined in to share their sheer shock at the reveal. Trinity Rodman herself dropped a sly comment for Ben Shelton that hinted at their soft launch some time ago. While some fans felt it like a blow, the others had a good hunch. The two fueled dating rumors early in March, days before the big reveal.

Ironically, Coco Gauff’s comments come after the fans took a significant amount of their time shipping her with Shelton. Since the latter part of the previous year, the tennis stars’ fans have speculated on the nature of their relationship.

Notably, the two often times used to tag each other on their pictures. Additionally, they have always complimented each other in interviews. The rumors were alive till early in January 2025 when the two were spotted out late in the night for an ice cream run.

Ben Shelton is not one to share the details of his relationship with the public on social media or in his interviews. Days before the 2025 Indian Wells Open, he sat down with Vogue to unravel the stories of his childhood and present. His interaction was a feature in the magazine’s March 2025 issue. One of the aspects he touched on was the changes in his life after the 2023 US Open Semi-final run.

More specifically, it was his “dialed-in” celebration that had his DMs flooded with flirtations. He shared how people would use that as a pun and refer to his iconic moment with Novak Djokovic. However, when asked about his relationship status, Shelton did not hesitate to decline the prospect.

As for his choice, he quipped that he had his plate full of obligations that needed to be fulfilled. Furthermore, he reserved this phase of his life for self-discovery and to see through his aspirations. While the interview took place only days before his hard launch with Dennis Rodman’s daughter, possibly he intended to keep his relationship private.
