‘Cody Garbrandt is targeting a bout with Jose Aldo in April’ – TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter reveals
Cody Garbrandt

Cody Garbrandt was all set to take on Deiveson Figueiredo, by moving down a weight class (to the flyweight division), on the 21st of November, last year at UFC 255. But, a torn bicep, coupled with various other ailments (COVID-19, thrombosis, pneumonia), halted the American’s plans.

The number 3 ranked bantamweight contender, now looks all set to return to the octagon. Revealing that he is back up and running, while speaking to TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter, ‘No Love’ also said he was targeting a fight with veteran Jose Aldo, in the bantamweight division.

Aaron Bronsteter tweeted, “Cody Garbrandt is targeting a bout with Jose Aldo in April. He expects that the flyweight title rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will also take place in April. Cody Garbrandt last fought Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250, winning the match via KO. in the second round. The win snapped Cody Garbrandt’s three match losing streak, which also happened to be his only three losses, in his professional career. Couldn’t agree more with Cody as well, as waiting until Deiveson Figueiredo is done with his fight, would only waste away his time.

Jose Aldo, on the other hand, too, snapped a three-match losing streak, when he beat Marlon Vera at UFC Fight Night 183. The match-up with Cody surely seems exciting.

Is Cody right in targeting a bout with Jose Aldo? Or should he wait, and take on ‘Daico‘?
