Cody Rhodes had to go through The Bloodline to finally finish his story at WrestleMania XL. One of the members who played a key role was Paul Heyman, with whom The American Nightmare shared the ring, indulging in many fiery promos. Although they were on opposite sides in the rivalry between him and Roman Reigns, Rhodes genuinely felt they would’ve been an amazing duo.
The 38-year-old star spoke on the Sports Illustrated podcast about the possibility of being a Paul Heyman Guy in another lifetime. The Undisputed Champion expressed his wish to see a partnership between him and the Hall of Famer, but it turned out exactly the opposite. Cody Rhodes further added that, although he felt some of the decisions he made were questionable, it would’ve been nice to work with him.
Heyman has managed many wrestlers throughout his career, with some of them being the biggest stars in the company at the time. The ECW pioneer showed good chemistry with the likes of CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Roman Reigns, which worked like a charm with the audience. For his contribution to the business, the 58-year-old legend got inducted into the Hall of Fame ahead of WrestleMania XL.
In another lifetime, I probably would have made the best Paul Heyman Guy. I probably could have been his absolute Ace. It just didn't work out that way. It worked out that I was the adversary for his number one guy, Roman Reigns.Cody Rhodes on Paul Heyman via Sports Illustrated podcast
After his historic victory against The Tribal Chief at the Show of Shows, Rhodes has shifted his focus towards his first PLE title defense. He will defend his title at Backlash against the winner of the No. 1 Contender match between AJ Styles and LA Knight. It will be interesting to see who emerges victorious on tonight’s edition of SmackDown.
Shinsuke Nakamura sent a 3-word message after his loss against Cody Rhodes

The King of Strong Style took to Instagram and shared a compilation of his pictures taken at the house show. In his latest on-screen outing, he lost against Ilja Dragunov, who was wrestling in his first main roster match.
