Cody Rhodes recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet in his Nightmare Factory for a lengthy conversation. At one point in the interview, he revealed the only interaction he had with Roman Reigns on the set of their Street Fighter movie. ‘The American Nightmare’ said that the production crew mostly kept them apart, fearing that they might get into a real confrontation if not done so.

Rhodes, however, did have to tell Reigns which way one of the trailers was, and that’s it. As per the Undisputed WWE Champion on Insight, it was the only time he and Reigns interacted on that set. Rhodes said it was very awkward. Calling their relationship crazy, the former AEW EVP affirmed that he has immense respect for ‘The OTC’ due to what he’s done for this business, but he’s unsure about anything personal.

They were very cognizant that we would not cross paths. And we did, because I had to tell him the direction of one of the trailers, and that was our only moment, and it was very awkward. That’s a crazy relationship. I have nothing but admiration for what he’s done and accomplished, but I don’t know what it is. I don’t even like talking about it because I don’t know what it is. It’s just a very strange relationship.

‘The Prodigal Son’ also said that he doesn’t like talking about his relationship with ‘The Tribal Chief’ because it’s just undefined. While there are some pictures of these WWE stars posing with the rest of the cast, they could be spotted away from each other in placement. Speaking of their characters in the movie, Roman Reigns has played the villain Akuma, while Cody Rhodes has played Guile.

And despite initial rumblings about it, Reigns and Rhodes haven’t shared any meaningful scene in the movie. The film is set for an October 16 release later this year. The way it was described by Rhodes, that his real-life bond with Reigns is something he doesn’t know about only reaffirms the fact that they don’t see eye to eye.

They have proven to be the fiercest of rivals in WWE, and it took an unprecedented effort from ‘The QB1’ to dethrone ‘The Head of the Table’ at WrestleMania XL. Rhodes and Reigns were, at one point, planned to oppose each other at this year’s WrestleMania to complete their trilogy. However, it got nipped in the bud after the creative leadership of WWE decided against it, citing audience fatigue.

Cody Rhodes ranks three worst slaps he’s received as a wrestler

In the same interview from above, Cody Rhodes was asked about how badly he was injured with that slap by Travis Scott at last year’s Elimination Chamber. It resulted in a black eye and a perforated eardrum with how intense of a smack it was from Scott. But much to everyone’s surprise, it wasn’t the most intense slap he has received as a wrestler.

Instead, the 40-year-old went on to reveal two more incidents that were more painful than the one involving Scott. The second most jarring slap he’s been hit with came when he once took on Bob Holly in London. Rhodes said the way Holly clocked him made the WWE Champion realize that Holly was tricked into knocking Rhodes out by someone else.

Speaking of what he believes was the hardest slap anyone has ever given him, to a degree that ‘The American Nightmare’ felt it in his feet, it was the one he received from Nattie Neidhart. Cody Rhodes said it felt like an MLB batter swinging the bat, and he came in the way. In that way, he put Natalya on the top, followed by Bob Holly and Travis Scott at number three.

Before listing these moments, Rhodes reflected on Scott’s time in WWE, which the fans have massively disliked. But the ‘Quarterback of WWE’ said he appreciated that the rapper lent his time to the company, and he even took a pretty sick Cross Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. The erstwhile Stardust emphasized that most fans just remember that infamous slap that injured Rhodes, but the latter said he liked ‘La Trav’.
