Cody Rhodes emerged victorious in his Undisputed WWE title defense against Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin. As such, Rhodes extends his championship reign after defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. Following his win, The American Nightmare spoke in detail about a bold prediction made by his rival prior to winning the title.

During the Bash in Berlin press conference, Rhodes recalled a face-to-face interview with Reigns, where the latter warned him about being the company’s poster boy. The Head of the Table told the champion that fatigue would set in once he reached the top of the mountain. Cody said that he didn’t prefer to say the word “tired.” Moreover, he believes that the WWE ‘grind’ is actually beneficial for him and the other wrestlers.

However, the second-generation star admitted that there was some truth to Reigns’ statement. Rhodes has been among the top superstars with the most matches in WWE over the past couple of years. During the buildup to their WrestleMania encounter, the 39-year-old promised to be a fighting champion. As the face of the WWE, a lot of responsibilities fall on the shoulders of the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Having said that, Cody Rhodes has done a commendable job in ensuring WWE’s hot streak of sold-out PPVs and shows continues. Meanwhile, Reigns has also contributed massively to the success despite his part-time schedule. Thankfully for the fans and company, the two top stars will most likely remain in this position for many years to come.

Will Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns III take place in the near future?

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns squared off against each other in the main event of consecutive WrestleMania’s. With both superstars tied at one apiece, fans have speculated at the possibility of a third match. However, it seems unlikely that will happen in the near future.

At the moment, Reigns is out of action after suffering a hellacious beatdown from Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline. Although Rhodes has an inevitable rematch down the line against Sikoa, the OTC will be focused on getting revenge on his former faction. 

The American Nightmare might move away from The Bloodline storyline, leaving Reigns to sort out matters. Therefore, WWE will most likely keep both men apart from each other for the foreseeable future. A third match at WrestleMania 41 is also ruled out, with Reigns’ cousin, The Rock, in line to take on Rhodes.
