Prior to his main event clash against Solo Sikoa, Cody Rhodes‘ entrance to the ring had fans on their feet. Rhodes walked from his bus, alongside his dog, Pharoah, and received advice halfway from Arn Anderson. The Four Horsemen member was among the many legends present at Cleveland Browns Stadium to watch SummerSlam. Following the event, The American Nightmare revealed WWE’s heartwarming gesture for the wrestling icons.

During the post-show SummerSlam press conference, Rhodes said that the Stamford-based promotion had done everything to accommodate and help them feel welcome. Before the show, WWE sent a message to every talent, informing them about the legends that would be in attendance. Moreover, wrestlers were provided with photos and a biography of each of the Hall of Famers.

According to Rhodes, this helped the younger stars learn more about the legends before they could approach them. The 39-year-old then heaped praise on the company for the way they have managed things, name-dropping Chris Legentil, Nick Khan, and Triple H

I've never seen this before. All the wrestlers got a text, all of us, about the legends that were gonna be here tonight. And not just, 'Hey, the legends will be here tonight, go say hello, go say thank you'. There was a one-sheeter with each of their pictures and a biography. Because, you know, we've got a lot of young guns.

Speaking of the legends in attendance, Diamond Dallas Page (DDP), Kevin Nash, and X-Pac were spotted in the crowd. Additionally, The Steiner Brothers shared a special moment when they watched Bron Breakker squash Sami Zayn to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

All of the aforementioned icons are presumably on a Legends deal with WWE. Regardless, it was a sight to behold when Arn Anderson returned and appeared to give a pep talk to Rhodes. The Enforcer’s contract with AEW expired in late May, sparking rumors of him potentially joining WWE. After last night’s segment, fans will have to wait and see what lies ahead for Anderson.

What is next for Cody Rhodes after defeating Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam?

Cody Rhodes overcame the odds against Solo Sikoa, securing a massive victory in the main event of SummerSlam. For the second time, Rhodes walked out of a Bloodline Rules match with the championship on his shoulder. Having said that, it seems that his story with Sikoa and the faction has come to an end for now.

Therefore, The American Nightmare will look to shift his focus toward other challengers. On the blue brand, talented stars such as Andrade and Carmelo Hayes could pose as potential contenders. The Undisputed WWE Champion can also reward Kevin Owens and Randy Orton for their help by granting them title shots.

For months, WWE has been teasing the inevitable feud between Orton and Rhodes. Hence, they could pull the trigger in the coming weeks. Most notably, the 39-year-old star hinted at a rematch between him and Roman Reigns down the line. The Tribal Chief returned during the main event to lay a beatdown on Sikoa and help Rhodes retain his title.
