Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns recently shocked fans by teaming up to face their common enemy, The Bloodline. This was a move that no one saw coming. The duo will take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood on Sunday. Despite joining forces, it’s clear that the two superstars are still far from being friends.
Rhodes recently made an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. The host brought up the recent face-to-face confrontation between the two superstars that took place at the Georgia Tech football field. McAfee referred to the segment as cinema and wanted to know if the two of them shook hands afterwards. The WWE Undisputed Champion denied this straight away, shocking the show’s host.
WWE often throws together two or more superstars in a team who are either very different from each other or dislike each other tremendously. This leads to constant tension between the teammates, with fans wondering if they would be able to coexist. The SmackDown Superstar claimed that this was simply not one of those situations. They had already agreed to coexist but did not need to shake hands.
Rhodes wished that there was a crowd of people present alongside him and Roman Reigns at Georgia Tech. Although professional wrestling often requires a suspension of disbelief, this would have truly allowed fans to feel how real the feelings between these two superstars were.

Cody Rhodes continued talking about the segment and revealed some shocking details that took place during the shoot. The American Nightmare wanted to hammer in the point that they were not friends. During the preshoot, they stood on opposite sides of the field while the production team prepared the lights and other equipment.
There was no discussion between the two before the shoot. They simply walked across the field from their respective sides, met halfway, and delivered their lines. The American Nightmare also mentioned the importance of Paul Heyman, who has been regarded as the mastermind of this segment.
No discussion, whatsoever, No awareness of what one might say to the other. We just walked across the field, met at the 50, ran it straight through.

Rhodes and Reigns are two of, if not the biggest, superstars in the company at the moment. Whenever they work together, they are bound to create magic. The WrestleMania main events between the two in 2023 and 2024 have been fantastic. Furthermore, their segments and chemistry have been on point since the OTC made his return and since they decided to team up.
