The upcoming Bad Blood PLE is set to emanate from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Ahead of their tag team match at the show, Roman Reigns had an intense staredown with Cody Rhodes. The duo butted heads at Georgia Tech’s football field on the latest episode of SmackDown. Reigns explained why the field was his ‘home’, alluding to his time playing football for the Yellow Jackets.
The OTC wanted to assert his dominion over the city in front of Rhodes. In response, the latter claimed that his family shed blood and tears in the arena outside the field. Talking about the State Farm Arena, Cody said the city belonged to him. Further, the two top stars of WWE hashed out their differences. Reigns asked his archnemesis why he signed the contract to team with him at Bad Blood.
The Head of the Table stated that while Rhodes has everything to lose in the match, he has nothing to lose himself. Roman lamented the way The Bloodline took away everything from him. Moreover, the former Undisputed WWE Champion mentioned the Solo Sikoa-led faction’s attacks on Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman.
Rhodes reminded his WrestleMania opponent how he had predicted this outcome before. Once his situation with The Bloodline was over, Roman Reigns vowed to come after the Undisputed title. Cody Rhodes rubbed salt in the wounds of the Samoan wrestler by declaring that WWE was his yard now.
Despite their rivalry, The American Nightmare hoped that Reigns could put aside their differences at Bad Blood. Following the heated confrontation, the two blocked each other’s paths on the way out. The former Bloodline leader then told Cody how he has been “in his way” in life.

Fans were ecstatic to see how the segment between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns on SmackDown unfolded. The majority of the WWE Universe heaped praise on the face-off. In fact, a few users online suggested that it should be nominated for an Academy Award.
Another fan claimed that this was the reason why Reigns and Rhodes are the two top stars of the company. Meanwhile, a user appreciated the improvement in the overall production value since Triple H took over. One fan took the opportunity to mock rival promotion, AEW, stating that the Tony Khan-led promotion would never do anything of the sort.
As always, there were a few fans who didn’t find the segment as compelling as others did. A user said that it was “too cheesy,” especially the last few seconds of the face-off. Nevertheless, this intense confrontation has certainly added to the intrigue of the tag team match at Bad Blood.
