‘We just wanted to talk a little bit about the future and everything that’s going on’ – Colby Covington on his photo with Jorge Masvidal’s wife

‘We just wanted to talk a little bit about the future and everything that’s going on’ – Colby Covington on his photo with Jorge Masvidal’s wife

Colby Covington recently shared a photo alongside Jorge Masvidal’s wife Maritza (not in talking terms with Jorge). Since he posted this in the wake of a huge matchup for Jorge Masvidal, as he faces Kamaru Usman, for the welterweight title in the main event of UFC 261; it has got many fans talking.

Out here playing games with Mrs. Masvidal. Great catching up with you Maritza! #ufc261,” Covington tweeted.

Later that day, Covington appeared in an interview with the Schmo and opened up on the photo he posted. He claimed that Masvidal’s wife Maritza is a really good friend of his, and has been a friend for quite a long time, especially during those times when he and Masvidal were close.

“That was today…That’s Miss Masvidal. She is legally married to Jorge Masvidal still. She has two of Jorge Masvidal’s kids… We were playing games. We were catching up on the past. I used to be good friends with her and the family. At one point in time, me and Jorge Masvidal were very good friends. I was over at the house a lot of times. Hangin’ out with the kids, hangin’ out with his wife who he is legally married to – Maritza.”

He concluded, “We just wanted to have a little blast in the past, and talk a little bit about the future and everything that’s going on.”

Masvidal is reportedly single now. He also was in a relationship with Malki Kawa’s (Masvidal’s agent) sister Iman Kawa previously. Covington, on the other hand, didn’t like the way Masvidal has been dealing with Maritza and her kids, and has vowed to break his face if they ever meet in the octagon.
