The incident Covington was referring to took place in 2016. At that time, the light heavyweight GOAT tried to avoid a drug test at Jackson Wink MMA Academy. It is definitely one of the most notorious incidents in MMA history. When USADA arrived, Jones hid under the octagon to escape the representatives.

According to Jones, he smoked marijuana and didn’t want to get caught. He strongly suggested that there were no PEDs involved in this situation. However, over the years, ‘Bones’ did test positive for banned substances multiple times in his career. This further popularized the octagon-hiding incident, that Covington made sure to utilize in his latest joke.
