Undefeated welterweight prospect Ian Machado Garry’s PR promotion remains the stuff of a nightmare lately. However, he has had a substantial rivalry going with all and sundry. Sean Strickland, Kevin Holland, and Joaquin Buckley are only some of them. One that stands out more than most is Colby Covington.

Garry has presented the option to sign a contract for UFC 303 during International Fight Week in Las Vegas. The card holds special value as it marks the return of consensus superstar and PPV buyout king Conor McGregor. Numerous MMA pundits urge Covington to sign the contract and fight on the card. However, ‘Chaos’ is adamant about Garry following through with his list of stipulations for a fight.

They [UFC] are trying to figure out who the biggest name is...International Fight Week is like their big event. I got unfinished business from my last fight. Leon Edwards got the title right now...I'm gonna probably have to fight somebody else to get back to him...there's this kid calling me out - Ian Garry...he's a nobody...I gave him stipulations...you have to show me you are serious about business...he was supposed to be in the last fight [296] pulled out of the press conference...that shows me he's not serious...

Ian Garry’s most recent troubles stem from wife Layla Anna-Lee’s 2010 satirical publication How to be a WAG. MMA content creators like Red Pill MMA and MMA Guru criticized the book, and Sean Strickland threw shade at the age gap between Anna-Lee and the undefeated fighter. On the other hand, Covington mocked Anna-Lee in multiple instances angering Garry.

Garry had vowed to give him a beating. However, with his UFC 296 title loss, Colby Covington has seemingly backed himself into a corner. Edged out slowly 49-46 across the board, he lost big time to Leon Edwards at UFC 296.

With Belal Muhammad engaging in a prolific title shot dream with Edwards, the #4 welterweight now only precedes the undefeated phenom Shavkat Rakhmonov. The elite Rakhmonov poses his challenges, with many peers considering Covington is avoiding him. He has no one but Garry to make a fight with. However, he wants to work his way back to a title shot rather than face the “nobody” kid.

Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington is consistent in spewing chaos with his controversial takes and disses if nothing else. He has a vivid rivalry going on with welterweight prospect Ian Garry. The undefeated Irish star has taken to his Instagram on three occasions to call out the peer and sign a contract. However, Covington is very dismissive about the matter. Now, he makes yet another controversial claim about his last loss.

He wants to regain the top spot and rematch Leon Edwards again. The ‘MAGA’ patriot lost out big in front of his role model – Republican Nominee Donald Trump, who attended UFC 296 live at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 16. After the bout, he claimed that an injury affected his performances that night. On the Twins Pod, Covington talked further about the injury and the loss.

Yeah, see look at this x-ray...see where it's broken in three different spots...the midfoot fracture, uh median, cuneiform bone... I had to fight like twenty-five minutes...in the biggest moment and spot of my life and I'm on one leg...yeah they would have [potentially called the fight] if I said something...those commissions are serious so yeah. [On taking a loss] Trump was there front row and you know I want to set an example for him...and that was why I didn't want to come out after the fight and make excuses...

Covington has no future billing, but he urges he would return somewhere around International Fight Week. While he cannot directly hop the line and content for the title strap yet again right now, he hopes to get there soon. It remains to be seen if he gradually opens up to answering Ian Garry’s callouts and if they end up in a fight.
