Colin Cowherd Backs Caitlin Clark After Megyn Kelly Labels Fever Star ‘Coward’
Caitlin Clark's singular focus is to help her Indiana Fever win games, as they are vying for a championship this year.

Over the last month, Caitlin Clark has been on a tear, setting records almost every time she plays. Those performances have translated to success for the Indiana Fever, but something else has taken over their on-court accomplishments.
Ever since veteran guard Sophie Cunningham made it clear that she wants to protect women’s sports from transgender men, the Indiana Fever have been dragged into it.
After the road loss to the Minnesota Lynx, a reporter asked Clark what she felt about this entire discourse. The point guard made it clear that for any response to that, the media need to contact the league’s top brass and that of her team.
This lack of a stance angered quite a few people, with a certain Megyn Kelly labeling her as a ‘coward’ for ducking a ‘simple question.’ Seeing this engulf any conversations about the superstar, Colin Cowherd decided to stand up for Clark.
From an accountant to a surgeon, most professionals are busy, hyper-focused on their craft. Politics is now a full-time profession, not an extracurricular activity. It’s a minefield of nuance and complexity, and a minefield Megyn Kelly gets very well paid to walk through daily. But I’m not asking a guard to be up to date on the Big Beautiful Bill or the Supreme Court decision. Not their job.

The longtime analyst believes that since it is not her primary job, there was no need to attack Caitlin Clark for not wanting to talk about something political. Her job is to play basketball, which he believes she is doing well.
Colin Cowherd believes Caitlin Clark is more Michael Jordan than LeBron James in speaking about politics
After first clarifying why sports and politics should be kept aside and how Caitlin Clark was needlessly and forcefully being dragged into it, Colin Cowherd then went after those trying to drag her into this mess.

We’ve gone from ‘Shut Up and Dribble’ to ‘You must speak up and dribble?’ Politics and sports will always mingle, but they’re different arenas. Quit trying to drag every big-name athlete into your arena… She may be more MJ than LeBron, less interested in leading a movement and more interested in leading her league.

The 62-year-old believes that the Iowa native has no interest in speaking up about political topics, similar to how Michael Jordan is. The latter was famous for suggesting that opposing voters bought his shoes.
That, to Cowherd, is how Clark separates from her GOAT, LeBron James, who is more vocal and has not shied away from taking shots at anyone. The analyst added that the Fever superstar is more interested in improving her game and leading her team to wins rather than talking about politics.
At the same time, Cowherd slammed those who were criticizing Caitlin Clark for not responding to that question. He pointed out that the outrage came because those people wanted to use her response to their benefit. Since they couldn’t, they directed their anger towards her.
Caitlin Clark’s shoes help another player set WNBA record
Apart from deftly wriggling her way out of this mess, Caitlin Clark is trying to ensure her focus is on reversing the Indiana Fever’s run of two consecutive losses. That started with her taking accountability for their second of those losses.
But she has some reason to cheer, after Kayla McBride went on to set a new WNBA record for three-pointers made in a game. The Minnesota Lynx guard exploded for 10 triples in their win over the Dallas Wings.
The reason why it matters to the Fever superstar is that McBride secured this record while wearing one of Clark’s last custom PE shoes before her signature sneaker came out.

Lynx guard Courtney Williams might be wearing the latest Caitlin 1s during the game, but for her teammate to notch a record wearing Clark’s “Coconut Milk” Nike Kobe 5 Protro PEs was also an achievement in itself. It shows how popular her shoes are, even among rivals.
