Kylie Kelce has openly talked about possibly becoming a minority owner of the upcoming Philadelphia WNBA franchise.

When the WNBA announced it was adding three new expansion teams, Kylie Kelce, who could be labeled as Philadelphia sports’ first woman, was most excited for a franchise coming to her city.
She may be the wife of one of the Philadelphia Eagles’ all-time greats, Jason Kelce. But over time, the Pennsylvania native has proven that she is far more than just a sports-celebrity wife.
Mrs. Kelce was once the field hockey coach of her alma mater, Lower Merion High School, the same school the late great Kobe Bryant once attended before heading to the NBA.
Since marrying Jason Kelce, she has grown into a podcaster while raising the couple’s four children. At the same time, she has also made it clear that she is only a fan of Philadelphia sports teams, even though her extended family supports other teams.
For instance, brother-in-law Travis Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, but the Philly loyalist made it clear she would not wear their colors when she made it to a game to support him. The 34-year-old sticking to her roots is why she was invited to speak on ESPN’s Women’s Sports Now.
I’ve heard a lot of people have issues with the Philly Broads. I think they think it is a derogatory name towards women. If you have trouble with that, I don’t think you should come to Philly.

This was the former college field hockey star’s opinion when the panel discussed the name Philadelphia Broads for the upcoming expansion franchise. It seems Kylie Kelce just does not want people who are not ok with the name to come to the city or be a part of their new team.
Kylie Kelce’s influence on Philadelphia sports teams will increase once WNBA team starts to play
This is the first time Kylie Kelce was brought on to speak about the WNBA and the upcoming team in Philadelphia. So far, she has stayed away from the league, as there is no presence in her city.

But when Unrivaled played a special game in Philly, she was called to grace the event with her presence. That means that this involvement will grow exponentially once the WNBA team starts playing.
Bringing her on ESPN, one of the official network partners of the WNBA, was another sign that she will likely be a big part of the expansion franchise. So far, she has mostly talked about the Eagles, the Flyers, and the Phillies.
Now that LeBron James has joined the 76ers, there is a chance Kylie Kelce will take her fandom there. After all, the King shares a good relationship with her husband and brother-in-law.
Overall, it seems as if Mrs. Kelce will likely become a major voice for Philly sports as time goes on. If the 76ers owners are to make an impact with the local community with their upcoming WNBA team, it might make sense to make the most of her presence. After all, she is one of the most influential figures in sports, as per Sports Illustrated.
Kylie Kelce’s Philly team name suggestion came after Cleveland Sirens faced backlash
Kylie Kelce was asked to opine on the potential name of the upcoming Philadelphia WNBA franchise because of the backlash the Cleveland Cavaliers’ upcoming women’s team name faced from fans.
The organization named the team, set to make its debut in 2028, the Sirens. As soon as the announcement was made, fans took to social media to question why the franchise would be named after something with no connection to women or any action related to sports.
The siren is powerful, and she draws you in, and she is unapologetic, and she’s relentless, and she is everything that a good teammate is.a

Cleveland Sirens' President of Business Operations Allison Howard breaks down why they chose the siren as their mascot 🧜♀️ pic.twitter.com/DynFDSLgQ3
This was the Sirens’ President of Business Operations explaining that the Sirens they are referring to are Greek mythological creatures whose irresistibly enchanting song lured sailors to shipwreck and death on the rocky shores where they dwelled. That is why their mascot will also be a Siren.
