Basketball fans are eagerly waiting for Nike to release the first signature shoe they designed for Caitlin Clark. The launch date is still more than two months away, while she only gets to wear sample sizes.

So far, the Indiana Fever guard has released a few colorways, and she has confirmed that more are to come. She has been working with Nike to ensure interest stays high until the public launch.

This means carefully figuring out which games and events to release each colorway to, ensuring all eyes are on the product at specific intervals leading up to the public launch.

It is not as if Clark’s first signature shoe will not have fans buying them out in hours, or even minutes. Her custom Kobe Protro PEs sold out faster than most Nike signature shoes, which is why the company is betting big on her first big release.

The point guard did a bit of marketing by handing out a pair each to the StudBudz duo, Natisha Hiedeman and Courtney Williams, at the All-Star weekend. Others asked, but all she had were sample pairs in her size.

But that will just help promote it within the league. To help the shoe garner major brownie points with the casual fan, Caitlin Clark and Nike thought of something more global.

Hollywood star Jason Sudeikis is in the midst of promoting Season 4 of his popular soccer-based show, Ted Lasso. When the actor-writer graced the series premiere in New York, he was wearing her Caitlin 1s in their launch ‘Racer Blue’ colorway.

Jason Sudeikis dived into WNBA experience to write season 4

Caitlin Clark shared Jason Sudeikis‘ photo wearing her Caitlin 1s. That is proof that she, Nike, and Ted Lasso collaborated to promote her signature shoe in Hollywood.

But those basketball shoes are not the only link the show has with the WNBA or women’s basketball. While speaking with Extra TV, the series creator revealed how his experience sitting courtside helped him write the script for the women’s soccer-focused Season 4.

My family and I, my sisters, my kids, we go to a lot of WNBA games, in New York, specifically. We are season ticket holders for the Liberty. Our seats are right next to the opposing bench… I get to see these women and the coaching staff; I’m just hearing all this stuff… I sure do think we need to incorporate into our show.

Jason Sudeikis said

The 50-year-old stressed that his experiences watching and observing WNBA players helped him capture nuances in their show, which is about women’s sports. Moreover, he and his children often appear at games, and that has helped him get ideas for Season 4.

Wilson to release more Caitlin Clark signature basketballs

While Nike will have to wait until October to figure out just how popular Caitlin Clark is, Wilson basketball has already tasted success by making her their brand ambassador.

When they launched her first set of signature basketballs, they sold out quicker than the company could restock. That success has led to additional designs, and they still sell out.

While Nike may just be getting ready to ship out Caitlin 1s, Wilson is on to their third set of signature basketballs featuring the Indiana Fever superstar. The new Caitlin Clark Signature Series 3.0 will launch on August 19th, and the first pictures show an all-black edition.

The company will launch two additional designs, which means the 24-year-old will officially have more basketball designs to her name than any other professional athlete in the history of both the NBA and the WNBA.
