Stephen Curry has garnered a lot of attention where he ranks as an all-time great. He won his first-ever Finals MVP award which many believed he needed in order to validate his worthiness of being one of the greatest players ever. He now has four titles under his name and several other records which will remain for a long stretch.
Now that he has what many believed he needed in order to enter the elite group of players, many are starting to compare his legacy to none other than LeBron James’. It is clear that Bron has been more involved in every aspect of the game having more MVPs and Finals MVP awards as well as 18 All-Star selections and several All-defense selections to top Steph by a mile. It also happens that he will soon become the leading all-time leader in points with nearly twice as many rebounds and assists then Steph.
Stephen Curry calls out doubters that belittled him prior to winning the championship
Stephen Curry had a lot to say after what experts have been talking about him before the season had commenced. He spoke during the trophy ceremony saying, “We always had a doubt but you know how long the road is to get back here because of how hard it is to win on this level. Boston is a great team, every team we played in the West are great teams. “
“But we found a way to get it done and everybody on this stage had a part in this. From the front office, coaches, players. At the beginning of the year what were they saying? We weren’t even on the radar. And now we’re here with two trophies, it means a lot,” he added. The four-time NBA Champion finished the series averaging 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Colin Cowherd says Curry and LeBron comparisons are invalid
Colin Cowherd had a very interesting take on the current debate between Stephen Curry and LeBron James. He laid down the fact that both their careers are miles apart from each other in terms of achievement. “The gap between Steph and Tatum is the grand canyon. The gap between LeBron and Steph is the grand canyon. You can’t just be throwing guys in there because they had back-to-back really nice years and they’re all-stars.”
“A lot of people in movies are movie stars, but there’s one Tom Cruise. He is the last movie star in the world that can drive a $400 million movie. And the other thing about Steph is… because Steph is a shooter and a ball-handler, barring a bad injury, he’s gonna age very well. These hyper-athletic basketball players like (Russell) Westbrook don’t age well. Steph has got three or four more finals in him barring big injuries. Because he’s got the coaching, he’s got the support system. Shooters and ball handlers age very, very well.”
