With no progress in the contract negotiation, there’s a high possibility that Brandon Aiyuk might be wearing a different jersey than his original red and white one.

Through multiple sources, it has been confirmed that the San Francisco 49ers have been approached by several teams across the league with trade offers for the star wide receiver. But there has been only one team in the running– the Pittsburgh Steelers

However, sports analyst Colin Cowherd believes Aiyuk should not make any decision to leave the 49ers in a rush or merely because he is not getting a deserving extension. During the recent episode of The Herd with Colin Cowherd, he used the example of Tyreek Hill to make Aiyuk understand the downside if he leaves the Niners.

Brandon Aiyuk will never play in his career if he leaves San Francisco– with a better offensive coach. He’ll never have more moderate weather, may never have a better roster, may never win 72% of his games. Tyreek Hill, remember when he mattered in January and February? ‘Hey, but he got the bag’ –But he’s irrelevant when it matters now.

He further emphasized how the Niners were the top team to make explosive plays in 2023, whereas the Steelers were ranked at 26th in the NFL. That’s why Cowherd advises Aiyuk to think it through and not make decisions in a rush if that doesn’t work for him.

Kyle Shanahan ready to move forward amid Brandon Aiyuk trade rumors

Shortly after dismissing the resolution rumors that begin with a social media clip of him hugging Aiyuk, the 49ers’ head coach Kyle Shanahan admitted on SiriusXM NFL Radio that the absence of the receiver is evident but at the time, he is ready to explore taking over the role of Aiyuk.

It’s always good for the practice and stuff. You always got to be ready for ‘next man up,’ and we’re preparing for that every moment

Judging from the head coach’s words, it appears he is getting frustrated with Aiyuk’s absence from the training camp and that’s why, until the situation gets resolved, he is ready to move forward with another player taking over. So that even if the trade rumors turn out to be true, the 49ers will have a player who is ready and reliable to take over.
