Gregor Gillespie catches the attention of Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov over fishing comment

Gregor Gillespie called himself the “Best Fisherman” and got the attention of Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Dustin Poirier. Gregor came through with a out of the world display of wrestling at UFC Vegas 26 today against Carlos Diego Ferreira and was hyped about the fight calling him the greatest fisherman.

The former two division champion Conor McGregor seemed to have not taken that comment in good spirit particularly. Conor McGregor commented on “This Gregor Gillespie cat is no way in hell the best fisherman in MMA. Not even fucking close!” on his Twitter. ‘The Notorious One’ doesn’t think the 34-year-old lightweight is better than him in fishing.

Dustin on the other hand, brought his ‘A level wordplay’ game taking a jab at his trilogy opponent. He sub tweeted Conor and his fishing comments. “Yall keep fishing. Im throwing real hooks here,” The Diamond said on Twitter.

The former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov who is now mentoring Islam Makhachev also seemed to have kept an eye on Gregor Gillespies’ performance. The Dagestani has been the voice for Makhachev and wastes no opportunity to set his teammates up with a top class opponent. Khabib suggests that Gregor and Islam should decide who’s the better wrestler inside the octagon.

Is Islam Makhachev Gregor Gillespie’s next opponent?

Khabib Nurmagomedov tagged the boss man Dana White and asked him to match up Islam Makhachev and “The Gift” for their next bout. “This guy want some fish,” he wrote posting a picture of Islam. Islam has been looking to fight a top-ranked fighter but that just doesn’t seem to happen for him.

Meanwhile, Gregor is in the top #10 of lightweight and didn’t particularly call out anyone in his post fight interview. The Gift was overwhelmed with his performance and is looking to keep climb the rankings. Now that a lot of fighters have paid their attention to him do you think there is a big fighter waiting for Gregor Gillespie?
