“They knew it was coming…” Conor McGregor civil lawsuit reason for Dana White pushback on superstar’s return, claims ex-UFC star
Brendan Schaub claims brass knew of Conor McGregor's impending fallout from his assault civil suit, ahead of UFC 303 PPV main event return.

Conor McGregor’s long-stalled UFC return is more than just a dream now. McGregor cancelled his UFC 303 Pay-per-view (PPV) kickoff media obligations in June, at Dublin’s 3Arena. After that, it has been one pit after the other. Recently, a Dublin High Court found Conor McGregor liable for assault in 2018. Ex-UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub says the implications of that were a long time coming.
While ‘The Notorious’ is due to pay a hefty sum of over $250,000 to plaintiff Nikita Hand, he has lost even more. Several businesses have cut ties with him in the wake of the allegations and civil lawsuit defeat. As if injuries and other projects weren’t enough to keep ‘Mystic Mac’ busy, this prolongs his fight game return. Given his excessive exclusive debauchery and nose-blows, and fearing such a fallout, UFC brass might have known this was coming, per Brendan Schaub.
So, … I think this is actually in conjunction with why Conor’s fight hasn’t been announced…why the Michael Chandler fight got pushed to my understanding is UFC brass went to go to…went to Ireland. To check out Connor and he wasn’t in the right frame of mind, …wasn’t in the right, uh, shape to take on a professional MMA bout – and they’re like and with all this lingering they’re like not happening, …they knew this was coming

The official towline and the last straw was that McGregor had a foot injury at the 11th hour of UFC 303 PPV fight week. However, ‘Big Brown’ speculates that a big reason the globe-trotting ‘Mac’ isn’t back against Michael Chandler is this very civil lawsuit. Schaub says there’s a chance brass, no stranger to “Notorious” lawsuits, knew what was to come, probably when they made pre-fight arrangements and UFC 303 PPV sweepstakes for Dublin’s 3Arena presser.
Substitute prospect fighters like Dan Hooker say that the Irishman has a lot going on in his life. A part-time actor, MMA promoter/part-equity owner, and the former face of the Proper 12 Brand – the machine won’t just stop. Promotional CEO Dana White often says same about McGregor not needing a contractual rehash. Schaub though, presents that if and when he does return, it would still be a blast.
Former UFC heavyweight says Conor McGregor return would shatter records, despite dwindling aura
Brendan Schaub recently gave his thoughts on Conor McGregor’s future. Schaub wasn’t sure if he wanted to see the Irishman back in the octagon. But he was confident he could be a record breaker. The former champ and one-time boxer still holds many PPV gate sales stats to his name, with global fans attending just to see him.

‘The Notorious’ hasn’t fought in any capacity since his 2021 leg break TKO vs. Dustin Poirier. After a number of years away recovering and shooting a movie, June was the date. The “Connie Comeback” made a projected $20 million in Live gate just at the prospect. However, both McGregor and the hopes stayed away.
With his future up in the air, Brendan Schaub recently shared his thoughts on the situation on his YouTube channel. According to ‘Big Brown’, the legal battle has taken a toll on McGregor. However, Schaub still thinks he can make waves.
Did you see Conor at all during the trial? It took its toll on him. Physically, you can see it has taken a toll on him…Do you want to see him back? I don’t…[But] Let’s say 2025 December live on Netflix Conor vs. Chandler. Massive and that’s the problem. That’s the fu*king problem
