McGregor recently visited the White House on St. Patrick’s Day, meeting Donald Trump and discussing issues like immigration and national identity. During his visit, he gave a passionate speech about saving Ireland and asked for US assistance for the same. His comments about Ireland’s immigration policies sparked controversy, with critics bashing him

McGregor later announced his intention to run for Ireland’s presidency. While his political ambitions generate debate, his chances of qualifying for the ballot remain slim due to strict eligibility requirements. Despite his inactivity, McGregor remains one of the most talked-about fighters as fans are desperate for his UFC comeback.

Conor McGregor might be done with the UFC

Conor McGregor injured himself at UFC 264 while fighting Dustin Poirier, and hasn’t stepped inside the octagon since then. He was expected to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but withdrew at the very last moment, citing an injury. Following that, there have been no updates about his potential comeback, leaving fans in a dilemma.

Despite this situation, he remains under contract with the UFC, with two fights remaining. UFC CEO Dana White has often mentioned that ‘The Notorious’ will come back. However, his recent doubts and lack of clarity were the first signs of the dispute in ideas. While many fans are still positive, recent comments from the Irish fighter give a different view altogether.

I have got two fights on the contract. I’m in negotiations. Last week, something happened to me. I went to the White House and my heart bleeds for my country right now. Lot of stuff going on back home. I am happy with what I have done. There is something else in me that’s in my gut right now.

Conor McGregor continued.

McGregor’s absence will probably impact UFC financially as he remains the sport’s biggest pay-per-view draw and revenue generator. Reports have already indicated that PPV sales are at an all-time low. Without him, UFC will have to rely on stars like Alex Pereira and Jon Jones to maintain interest. However, matching McGregor’s global fame and million PPV buys will be next to impossible.

What’s next for Conor McGregor after he departs from UFC?

Other than his political aspirations, Conor McGregor may focus on business ventures like which have been highly successful. He could explore Hollywood opportunities, building on his role in Road House to expand his entertainment career further. Boxing remains an option, with potentially lucrative fights against Floyd Mayweather or Jake Paul generating massive interest.
