It’s never a “Conor McGregor” news without Conor McGregor in the news in a very wrong way. His hatred for one-time rival Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dagestanis are well documented. “Notorious” went viral for it even this week. Now – Irish pro boxer – Jonathan Beresford AKA Jono Carroll (@jono_kk_carroll) gets in the way of the McGregor hate.
Conor McGregor emphatically spat in a fan’s face who turned out to be a Nurmagomedov fan. He also declared out loud what he did. The scene went viral outside Caffe Al Teatro in Wynn Las Vegas and Encore. Irish boxer Jono Carroll recently went on socials to express that he once looked up to him, but McGregor isn’t helping. McGregor had quite a thing to say about all things Devout Muslim.
Carpet Licker…

“King Kong” Carroll has fought for the super-featherweight/lightweight title straps. He once challenged for the IBF junior-lightweight title in 2019. At a neat 24-3, he was undercard on the Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury card in Düsseldorf. Conor McGregor has had a long trend striking at Team Khabib’s Islamic origins. Jono Carroll is seemingly a devout Muslim as well and draws the line.
Imagine someone you looked up to as a kid like @thenotoriousmma calling you a carpet licker because I put my head to the ground every day speaking to God.

Never mind disprespecting islam. This fella should be ashamed of himself.
Islam has made me a better man all around. I just hope he finds peace like I have.
Boosting his issues is the fact that the Irishman is going in on the offensive against his own. The first Irish champ of global import, UFC’s McGregor was an inspiration to all who came next. Recently, the Irishman went ‘rage mode’ on Paul Hughes for his mutual respect for Team Khabib. It’s a weird beef that not only once-supporters, but even McGregor’s rivals are getting into.
Jake Paul slams ‘greatest UFC fighter of all time’ Conor McGregor for mistreating rising Ireland star
“Big News” Hughes is the ‘it’ man of Irish combat sports after PFL’s Champions Series: Road to Dubai (Series 6). He went into the gut and glory of it against Team Khabib’s Usman Nurmagomedov in a PFL/Bellator lightweight title scrap. Nurmagomedov defeated Paul Hughes via majority decision. However, the Ireland-fame Hughes did all things right – something that McGregor could never muster up.

With the PFL branding it Ireland vs. Dagestan 2, Hughes naturally wanted Conor McGregor by his side at first; until he didn’t anymore. A Dublin Civil Court found McGregor liable of assault and levied just upward of €248,000 in damages (£206,000 /$260,000 all-in). Even top Irish brands dropped him as a media pitchman.
The former UFC champion backed him before. Additionally, Hughes told Team Khabib that he is his ‘own man’ and doesn’t refer to McGregor’s foul mouth antics. Hence, McGregor has taken to snubbing “boot-licker” Hughes of any humane form of respect. Now, Jake Paul inserts himself into this almost one-sided war:
Conor is the biggest UFC fighter of all time, we have to admit that…but equally you have to admit that he’s absolutely not a leader and can’t build the next man up. What fighter has he helped and truly pushed? Even taking shots at a young Irish star on the rise…

Paul, you will… https://t.co/NP2kf0kl6Q
Paul’s comments come just days after he shared footage of him having met McGregor. His brother and McGregor were posing for an exhibition boxing matchup. Consequently, that never came to be. The Irishman hasn’t fought since his 2021 TKO leg break loss and is yet awaiting word of a return.
