Dustin Poirier is not done with the UFC just yet. ‘The Diamond’ had previously hinted at a potential retirement after his last title fight at UFC 302. However, in his latest interview, Poirier revealed that he is ready for one more go in the octagon. But who will ‘The Diamond’ fight next in his potentially last dance in the octagon? Is it a fourth showdown against Conor McGregor? Poirier is open to an entire list of opponents.

Dustin Poirier recently sat down for a conversation on the Anik & Florian podcast. During the discussion, UFC commentator Jon Anik named several of the UFC’s top contenders like Nate Diaz, Conor McGregor, Alexander Volkanovski, Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira, and Colby Covington. The UFC commentator asked if any one of them could be ‘The Diamond’s potential opponent and he responded in the affirmative.

Poirier has already fought the lightweights like Gaethje, Holloway, and Oliveira. His trilogy fight with Conor McGregor is one of the highlight fights of his career. However, ‘The Diamond’ has not locked horns with former contender, Nate Diaz who is looking to make a comeback. Nor has he fought former champion Alexander Volkanovski or former interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington.

His last fight was against Islam Makhachev at UFC 302. It lasted five rounds before the Dagestani submitted him in the final moments of the fight. However, Poirier is not ready to hang up his gloves just yet. He previously mentioned on The MMA Hour that he is ready to fight again if a big enough opportunity presents itself, much to the delight of fans.

Fans were definitely excited to hear the possibility of another Dustin Poirier fight. Some demanded a fourth rematch with Conor McGregor. Others wanted fresh matchups. One user wrote that ‘The Diamond’ was better than everybody on the list except Oliveira. Another wrote that the only fighter Poirier could beat was McGregor. It will be interesting to see if the Louisiana native does indeed make a return to the UFC octagon.
