Conor McGregor has recently reignited discussions around his UFC return. Dana White’s former double champion shared the results of a drug test, showing that he is a ‘clean athlete’. This move comes after McGregor’s long-drawn absence from the octagon since 2021.
Conor McGregor recently put out a post on X. In the now-deleted tweet, ‘The Notorious’ had leaked the screenshot of an alleged email from the UFC’s drug testing company. It was about the status of his most recent drug test earlier this month— which had come out negative.

Following this, McGregor demanded UFC CEO Dana White clarity on his return date. His injury required extensive rehabilitation, and speculation emerged over whether McGregor had used prohibited substances during his recovery. Despite being out of competition for a while, McGregor has been one of the most tested athletes in 2024 under the UFC’s anti-doping protocols.
He underwent several tests, which helped him prove his clean status, particularly amidst controversy and rumors. While McGregor originally had his sights set on fighting Michael Chandler, the possibility of that fight happening soon seems uncertain. Chandler has accepted another bout against Charles Oliveira later this year.

He did an interview on the DAZN broadcast with Ariel Helwani. There he detailed plans for his return to the octagon. While ‘The Notorious’ is also clueless on his possible next opponent he is all ready to make a comeback in 2025.

Nonetheless, McGregor stated that he is 100% ready for whoever his next opponent might be. McGregor’s return would undoubtedly be a major event in the world of MMA, given his superstar status.
