The biggest UFC superstar won’t be at the most awaited PPV on June 29. Currently, Conor McGregor has pulled out from his anticipated UFC 303 comeback matchup with Michael Chandler. On a positive note, Henry Cejudo thinks that despite everything, this might be the best thing to happen to McGregor.
Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo recently talked with Kamaru Usman on his Pound 4 Pound Podcast. While discussing UFC 303, Cejudo revealed that McGregor pulling out remains a sign of positivity. It appears Cejudo has seen the withdrawal from the perspective of making a great return to MMA.
The fact that Conor McGregor has to pull out, that's actually a good sign. He's probably killing a little bit of his ego and he's taking a lot more serious than he ever….He's at that point where, ‘I wanna make sure that I'm 100 percent'. Like this comeback to be is real.Henry Cejudo via Pound 4 Pound Podcast
Conor McGregor has only had one MMA victory in the last six years, and as Cejudo mentioned, the fighter needs to take this comeback extremely seriously. On top of it, returning from a nasty injury like that is not easy at all. Given all the circumstances, the ’Mystic Mac’ doesn’t want to take any unnecessary risk.
McGregor recently updated fans about his injuries and UFC 303 postponement. He also promised to return as soon as he healed. Michael Chandler, who has waited two years for the fight, is the most affected by all of this. In times like this, Daniel Cormier has offered much-needed counsel for Chandler.
Daniel Cormier advises Michael Chandler after Conor McGregor’s UFC 303 pull-out
Michael Chandler had the opportunity to fight various other opponents, but the ‘Iron’ was determined to fight Conor McGregor. It was a high-risk and high-reward situation, which the fighter was ready to take. However, the fight had some unexpected twists. Although Chandler was sure that McGregor wouldn’t pull out, the opposite occurred.
Since then, it has been the talk of the town, with everyone chiming in with their perspectives. Similarly, Daniel Cormier recently talked about the situation as well. According to the former UFC double champion, Chandler should drop the idea of fighting McGregor.
I don't know that he should wait anymore. I think it's time to move off of this, and I believe that the overwhelming sentiment is that [McGregor] is doneDC via his YouTube channel
Cormier’s advice might be a tough pill to swallow for Michael Chandler, who sacrificed so much for this opportunity. While the fighter remains optimistic, it’s hard to tell what the future holds. With Dana White refusing to comment on the subject, only time will decide the fate of Michael Chandler.
