UFC superstar Conor McGregor has quite a reputation. Naturally, everyone remembers him for his notable rivalries with Nate Diaz, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Dustin Poirier, and others. Max Holloway is another name who fought McGregor in their early UFC days. ‘Blessed’ will fight on the historic UFC 300 card and recently received a new floral gear. As such, McGregor has expressed a desire to have one of his own custom styles.

Former featherweight champ Max Holloway is gunning for the ‘BMF’ strap. With one of the most highly anticipated Fight Weeks in play, the ceremonial “Embedded” series has returned. UFC 300 ‘Embedded,’ No. 4 Vlog sees the fighters receive new gear. It has since then been debunked that the UFC 300 “Adrenaline Unrivaled” gear lineup presented top fighters with custom Venum Sports Fight kits.

Holloway hails from Waianae (or Waiʻanae). Aiming to represent his Hawaiian heritage, ‘Blessed’ had advocated for floral shorts. This comes in light of other fighters like Bryce Mitchell and Sean O’Malley receiving their custom-styled gear. The MacLife posted the snippets of Holloway’s new shorts, to which McGregor sniped back with a laughter emoji.

Holloway had fired back that the Irishman could get his one with lucky charms. In a since-deleted post (@thenotoriousmma), Conor McGregor said that he wants his custom design of UFC shorts photoshopped in money engrams. It would imply his status as the richest fighter in UFC history. This only goes to show why ‘The Notorious’ carries his moniker for a reason.

Max Holloway – Conor McGregor Rivalry: Through the Cracks

Conor McGregor is a prominent name within combat sports circles. Hence, he has had some long-standing rivalries. UFC 229: Khabib vs. McGregor PPV event was one. His longtime rivalry with lightweight stars like Poirier and Nate Diaz remains another. Also, Max Holloway may not have had a heated rivalry with the Irishman, but it still remains a rivalry.

The duo faced each other on UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen. Even back then, the Irishman boasted some prime roasts, that came to be known as “McGregorism.” He even notoriously voiced that he would have shoved his blown knee into the opponent, keeping the essence of rivalry alive even after the bout was over. Ever since then, Holloway and McGregor have had a friendly rivalry.

Even Holloway later nudged that he’d probably “be in Twitter wars with McGregor till he is 60.” A rematch between the two featherweight legends remains a legacy fight as well as a money fight. However, Holloway could still fight for the featherweight title in the future. On the other hand, McGregor needs to put a string of wins before landing in the title contention picture. As such, the dream rematch might never happen.
