Conor McGregor had stirred up conversations about his return to the fighting scene, with a massive $200 million offer directed at boxing champion Terence Crawford. Adding to the twist, Nate Diaz has thrown his hat into the ring by calling out both McGregor and Crawford. Here is what happened:

Nate Diaz has a 1-1 record with McGregor. Meanwhile, he is fresh off a win over Jorge Masvidal in boxing. The Stockton native sent out a tweet on X where he posted his proposal to the two fighters. It ignited speculation about a potential blockbuster fight between Diaz and McGregor, which fans have eagerly anticipated for years.

McGregor’s offer was a two-fight deal—one boxing match and one in the MMA octagon. It sparked intense speculation in the combat sports world. McGregor and Crawford have gone back and forth on social media, with Crawford initially turning down the offer. But the latter later responded by saying he is now “tempted” to reconsider the proposal.

The Irish superstar has been out of competition since 2021 due to injuries and failed comeback attempts. He has been actively seeking a high-profile fight to mark his return. The Crawford deal, if it materializes, would be monumental, drawing attention from both boxing and MMA fans alike. Diaz’s involvement only intensifies the situation, as a trilogy fight between him and McGregor would be a guaranteed fan favorite.

Nate Diaz calling out Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez

This is not the first time Nate Diaz has made some major callouts. He previously stirred the combat sports world by calling out both Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez. During the buildup to his boxing match against Jake Paul, Diaz referenced Mayweather and compared himself to Conor McGregor’s performance against him.

Diaz pointed out how he was able to defeat McGregor in MMA much faster than Mayweather did in boxing. He had expressed that it further boosted his confidence in taking on Mayweather in the future. Diaz has also shown interest in fighting Alvarez.

Canelo has largely dismissed these calls. He stated on The Rick Eisen Show that while he never says “no” to a fight, it did not make sense for him at that time. Canelo is focused on legitimate boxing challenges, although it did not stop Diaz’s ambition to continue fighting high-profile names. It will be interesting to see who the Stockton native takes on next and if fans get to see him back in the octagon any time soon.
