After the enthralling UFC 257, a lot of fighters had to put their body on the line and face severe injuries. One of them was the main card fighter of the night, Conor McGregor. The “Notorious” Irishman faces a potential lengthy layoff due to his injury fighting against rival, Dustin Poirier. Conor faces a hefty time off following his UFC 257 loss on Saturday. When asked about the loss, Conor’s response to that was, “heartbroken”.

“It’s hard to take”, the Irishman McGregor told a post-fight news conference.

Mcgregor was sadly leaving after the fight on crutches. He hardly could walk backstage. Conor McGregor didn’t shy away from expressing his pain in the post-match conference.

The former UFC double champion McGregor suffered a technical knockout loss, which also happened to be the first of such in his career. The rematch against Dustin Poirier was devastating to Conor. Before the match ended, Conor’s legs were damaged by Dustin with a continuous onslaught of kicks to the leg.

The 32-year-old Irishman has been handed a 180-day medical suspension as he damaged his right tibia/fibula. He will be able to return if he gets a clearance sign from the doctors.

The winner of the rematch is handed a 7-day mandatory suspension for rest.

UFC 257 piled up with injury suspensions

Let the Main fight not distract you from the fact that, several other MMA fighters faced injuries at the end of the night. UFC competitors, Andrew Sanchez, and Matt Frevola were also handed 180-day suspensions. Sanchez lost to Makhmud Muradov by a TKO. Sanchez is now facing potential nasal and tibia injuries. Frevola suffered a right-hand injury after his defeat to Arman Tsarukyan.

The other fighters with a defeat from KO have been handed a minimum of 30-45 day suspension. Dan Hooker and Amanda Ribas were the other fighters with a 30-45 day suspension.
