UFC superstar Conor McGregor's strutting into London shisha lounge in a rare appearance, away from fight camp, has gone viral.

Conor McGregor is undoubtedly a combat sports icon. But even as a consensus superstar, his status is far from invincible. McGregor becomes increasingly vocal as the UFC refuses to commit him to a new fight date. As a result, without a fight date, all the Irish fighter has left is ‘Notorious’ spot snippets. McGregor’s strut in a surprise appearance at a London shisha lounge, for example, is one.

UB1UB2 West London’s (Southall) ‘X’ account (@UB1UB2) uploaded a reel of the Dubliner just sashaying into a shisha lounge in Park Royal, but with a slight limp. The exaggerated yet signature arm and leg flaying is recognizable anywhere. Not too long ago, UFC CEO Dana White said ‘Mac’ was back to training in NYC. Clearly, that course of action did not last long!

Conor Mcgregor recently worked the NYSE trading floors for the 9/11 Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund Charity Day. He also put in some training and pad work in the city for about a week. ‘The Notorious’ has been waiting to lock down a return since the UFC 303 pay-per-view injury pullout. CEO White indulged the thought of a December return until he mysteriously wasn’t anymore.

Perhaps the “need for weed” and some huff for the puff is why. With the notion of UFC keeping McGregor locked up for new billion-dollar broadcasting deals, he has teased freedom. The Irishman also clarified over the weekend at the DANZ PPV in Wembley that free agency was his current goal.

Mixed with that, his antics at bike rallies, BKFC, and a shisha lounge do not spell elongated camps. It appears McGregor will only go back to training once he gets a fight date from the UFC. The matter might not suit White and UFC brass, but it has gone immensely viral though.

Riding the sidelines since a leg injury, Conor McGregor has done everything but return to fighting. He is keeping up his roles as an MMA promoter and needle-moving equity owner active, as part of BKFC. The Irishman even recently co-hosted the BKFC Spain conference in Marbella, streaming on Triller TV.

The Irishman keeps his eyes and ears close to all forms of fighting as best he can. McGregor even attended the festivities at the ‘Joshua vs. Dubois’ mega-event from London. Added to that, his usual rough disposition and brash coke-fueled mannerisms do not help to show he’s ready for return.

While he hasn’t instilled confidence, McGregor is an instant hit wherever he goes. His untethered and animated near-billionaire disposition never wears off. The MMA aficionado and superstar casually treading into a London shisha lounge has gone similarly. Here are a few reactions to it:

Away from a return, the MMA fan clique has not reacted kindly to the public appearance. Some have even jibed down his weird jock-block limping, without fearing any struggle or leg injury. Of which, Conor McGregor has had one too many. The best prominent assessment (response) comes from ‘@acdmma_‘ who jokes that McGregor “can walk into any venue and it’s an instant meme“.

After the success of his unhinged role ‘Knox’ in the Road House remake, others have also quipped that the fix-it gangster is out looking for ‘Dalton’ (Jake Gyllenhaal) again. Late Spoiler territory: He survives in the film. But will McGregor survive the fan onslaught without a return date? Only time will tell.
