Dallas Cowboys owner is indeed a master of words when it comes to dealing with media and fans’ criticism. Jerry Jones finally addressed the most talked-about pending contract situation of his two-star players, CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott on the opening day of the training camp.
During Thursday’s press conference, Jones was asked about the contract situation of the star wide receiver since he has decided to hold out from participating in the training camp. However, instead of responding straightaway, Jones asked a follow-up question and accused fans of not giving him enough credit for keeping the Cowboys relevant for so many years.
I’m just gonna say this to y’all, give me some credit, OK?. You don’t think I’m good with numbers? You think I know how to add and subtract? Do I know how to talk? And sell? I realize all the criticism and I understand it. As a matter of fact, I try to stir it up. And I have since I got here. That’s good. Be relevant. It works.Jerry Jones said via Jon Machota of The Athletic
To an extent, Jones wasn’t all wrong about his relevancy statement as disputed the Cowboys being utterly silent throughout the offseason, they didn’t become irrelevant. And when Lamb and Prescott’s contract became an urgency, that was all anyone could talk about.

While highlighting the Cowboys’ relevancy and being the richest franchise in the NFL, Jones also responded to the questions of when will the pending contract situations get sorted. He assured the fans that he is willing to spend great energy to resolve these contract situations of his star players as the Cowboys are willing to keep them.
I want to say to our fans, I'm good with math. I'm very good. And I can stretch a dollar, because I can put a lot of energy, juice, and bulls**t with it.Jerry Jones asserted
Even though Prescott is not too worried about his contract situation and actively participating in the training camp, Lamb is nowhere to be seen. Additionally, Micah Parsons is also eligible for an extension but fortunately for him, he still has two good years to get his lucrative extension. The urgency at the moment is mainly regarding Lamb’s contract, who is coming off a Pro Bowl season
