Over the last few days, team India has been constantly playing intra-squad games to keep themselves in shape. it served multiple purposes for the Men in Blue. For one, it helped them stay fit and on some level compensate for not playing Test cricket prior to the WTC final. Additionally, it also helped the management to pick the 15 men squad for the clash against NZ.

Today, BCCI confirmed the names of the 14 players alongside skipper Virat Kohli, who have a chance to feature in the starting XI.

The squad looks well balanced and ready to showcase their skills to the entire world. Opener KL Rahul is excluded from the 15-member squad as he might still be struggling from the injury.

But in place of Rahul, young sensation Shubman Gill should get the nod to start against New Zealand. All things considered, captain Kohli has a tough task ahead of him as NZ is in terrific form.

The black caps completely overwhelmed England in their recent Test series encounter. In the series, the Kiwis looked in great shape and dominated the game in all aspects. Looking at their form, team India’s dugout might be a little concerned.
