4 players DC can retain ahead of IPL 2022

Rishabh Pant is an easy choice at number 5
Runner-up of IPL 2020 Delhi Capitals are one of the few franchises that aren’t in the favor of hosting a mega auction for IPL 2022. Capitals built their squad from the scratch after 2018 and now they boast of having one of the most lethal teams in the Indian Premier League. Thus, it will be tough for the franchise to let go of its players.
In this article, we take a look at four players whom DC might retain ahead of the IPL 2022 auction
Rishabh Pant

Undoubtedly Delhi Capitals will retain Rishabh Pant for the next edition of the Indian Premier League. The team management will be looking towards Pant as the future of the team and can consider building their squad around the young wicketkeeper-batsman. Pant has phenomenal records to his credit in the T20 extravaganza. In the first phase of IPL 2021, the youngster also proved his credentials as a capable leader for the squad.
Shreyas Iyer

Just like Pant, Shreyas Iyer has also been a pillar of strength for Delhi Capitals in the recent past. Iyer deserves the major credit for lifting the team post-2018 edition as he was the captain of the side in 2019 and 2020. It was an injury that ruled the seamer out of the first half of IPL 2021. Apart from being a competent leader, Iyer is also a fantabulous batsman.
Kagiso Rabada

South Africa’s decorated seamer Kagiso Rabada is the x-factor in the Indian side. Rabada’s numbers in the IPL are sensational and DC won’t fancy parting ways with a player of such a high caliber. The 26-year-old has played 42 IPL matches so far scalping 69 wickets at an economy rate of 8.32.
Marcus Stoinis

DC are expected to face a nid dilemma between Anrich Nortje and Marcus Stoinis for the second overseas slot. Stoinis should have an edge over Norte as he can contribute with his power-hitting along with bowling a few crucial overs for the team.
