Meanwhile, the Under-19 Cricket World cup is currently taking place in the West Indies which might be a great screener for the franchises ahead of the mega auction. Let’s look at the top five U-19 players who might get an IPL contract in 2022:

Yash Dhull

Yash Dhull might emerge as the first player from the current Under-19 side to grab a deal at the IPL 2022 auction. The right-handed batter is the skipper of the ‘Men in Blue’ team who began with a bang against the South African side where he smashed a brilliant knock of 82 runs.

Shaik Rasheed

Shaik Rasheed is one of the most promising names amongst the Indian batters who might have done just about enough to get an IPL deal in the forthcoming edition. The right-handed batter was India’s highest run-getter for the Indian team at the U-19 Asia Cup, scoring 133 runs in four matches at an average of 66.50.

Vicky Ostwal

It would be no less than a surprise if Vicky Ostwal doesn’t get a deal at the mega auction of the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League. The youngster is one of the most consistent performers in his team who picked up six wickets in four matches at an average of 15.83 and an economy of 2.50 in the recently-concluded Under-19 Asia Cup.

Harnoor Singh Pannu

Punjab’s left-handed opening batter Harnoor Singh Pannu was the leading run-getter in the U-19 Challenger Trophy. The 18-year-old has a family background in cricket as his grandfather Rajinder Singh played six Ranji Trophy matches for Punjab while his father represented the U-19 Punjab team.

Raj Angad Bawa

Just like Harnoor, Raj Bawa also comes from a sporting background as his grandfather, Tarlochan Singh Bawa, had played a key role in helping India clinch the gold medal in the 1948 London Olympics. The right-arm medium pacer is a brilliant bowler who finished as India’s top wicket-getter (eight) in the U-19 Asia Cup at an average of 21.37 and an economy of 5.18.
