Tom Brady’s ball knowledge isn’t limited to football. The former NFL quarterback keeps track of what’s happening in different sporting disciplines as well. Fans got a glimpse of his greatness while shooting an episode for ITV with retired soccer stars Garry Neville, Roy Keane, and Ian Wright.
The show’s producers asked the table to name the 7 most-followed athletes on Instagram. Right off the bat, they named Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Briefly, they considered Brady being one of the seven. Sure, he has a generous following on the platform, about 15 million, but they were given the task to guess the names with 80 million+ followers.
Future NBA Hall of Famer LeBron James took his place on the board at number five. While the others mulled over who could be on the list, Brady threw in a name that perhaps no one else thought of. Tom Brady said via The Overlap:
Virat Kohli… The Cricketer from India.
They don't call him the GOAT for nothing… 🐐

The Instagram leaderboard
- Cristiano Ronaldo – 666m
- Lionel Messi – 508m
- Virat Kohli – 273m
- Neymar Jr. – 236m
- LeBron James – 154m
- Kylian Mbappe – 130m

Cricket has yet to take off in the States, but the International Cricket Council has already sown the seeds. Two days before the Super Bowl matchup between the Seahawks and the Patriots took place, India won a T20 World Cup game against the USA National Cricket Team.
Tom Brady names the one baseball position that is similar to playing quarterback in football
While Cricket may still be in its infancy, America loves its sister sport, baseball. People with baseball knowledge will know that Tom Brady was drafted in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft by the Montreal Expos (now Washington Nationals) as a left-handed catcher.

According to the 48-year-old, the catcher closely resembles the quarterback. Brady said:
Catcher is a little like playing QB. You’re kind of in charge; you call the pitches. Nothing starts until you put the glove up. You’re in the action every play, you get to be a leader in a pretty tough part of the field.
Brady didn’t stick around in Montreal even though the Expo’s general manager, Kevin Malone, viewed him as a future superstar. Brady chose football. When an offer from the University of Michigan assistant Bill Harris came, he left baseball and committed to play for the Wolverines.
After redshirting his freshman year, he spent the next two seasons as a benchwarmer. He got his big break in year four. In total, Brady was part of the Wolverines for five years. In that time, he completed 61.9% of his passes for 4773 yards, threw 30 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions.
The Patriots drafted him 199th overall in 2000. At the end of his fifth season, he had won three Super Bowls. When he retired in 2023, Brady became the only football player and quarterback to win seven rings. He currently holds the best win/loss record as a starter, most passes completed and attempted, passing yards, and touchdowns.
