“Would love to dismiss AB de Villiers” – Harshal Patel on his next dream wicket
Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel was one of the surprise packages in the first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) as he picked up a whopping 17 wickets in just 7 matches. He was the designated death bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and despite going for plenty of runs in one or two matches, Harshal was always among the wickets and played a crucial role in RCB having an excellent first half of the campaign.
Harshal Patel was already a part of the RCB franchise in the past from 2012 to 2017. He was then acquired by the Delhi Capitals (DC) who did not give him a lot of chances to feature in matches. Harshal was then reacquired by RCB in the trade window on an all-cash deal along with Daniel Sams and proved to be a match-winner. After the suspension of the IPL, he has now revealed as to what his dream wicket is.
Harshal Patel picks AB de Villiers as dream wicket having already dismissed Virat Kohli
Harshal Patel spoke to India TV News about his dream wicket and said, “I’ve already got my dream wickets. I had dismissed Sachin Tendulkar back in 2011. I have also taken the wicket of MS Dhoni twice and Kohli once. All these are my dream wickets. I hope I never play against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the future but if that happens, I would love to take the wicket of AB de Villiers.”
Speaking further about his skipper Virat Kohli, Harshal said, “I usually don’t celebrate my wickets with so much passion. Virat covers it up. It’s his passion. His involvement on the field and his energy are exceptional. In a team sport, if you enjoy your teammate’s success, your side eventually plays as a cohesive unit. When I bowled a no-ball on my first ball against Mumbai Indians, Virat just told me to focus on the length. There was no other conversation.”
RCB will hope Harshal Patel continues his form as and when IPL 2021 resumes.
